no kidding law, man being kinda layed up and not having the site to cruise through was not fun. so far I have gotten myself in trouble every day since my surgery, yesterday I was chipping ice off the roof eaves and someone tattled on me. so I went for a walk in the woods and Judy found out, last night I had a furnace call out yeah caught grief for that, today took my buddies atv plow frame to Judy's son to have it welded,,,,,yup you guessed it caught grief for that too. This setting around crap aint for me! she just doesn't get it, I'm not gonna do something to hurt myself but I can NOT just set around doing nothing! Slowly improving, heck today I had her get me a pair of 34" waist pants just so I could wear pants and not sweats or sleep pants and bib overalls. still hurts to even pass gas so I have not eaten much of anything since I ate Tuesday evening, going to try to sleep on a bed tonight because this recliner is killing me and 2/3 hours sleep a night isn't cutting it. Depending on the weather I am going in the woods tomorrow. Don't know what I am going to do about duck season yet as I will still have all my stitches in for the first few days. She thinks I'm miserable now its not gonna be good if I cant duck hunt! well anyway thank you admin for getting the site back up so I could vent. LOL

good deal biz. its amazing how many times people want to pay me to do plumbing work but they are standing there watching a youtube video on how to do wiring,,,,, I just shake my head and think to myself your paying me to do plumbing so worse case you get a little water damage if its not done right but your watching a video and trying to save money by doing your own wiring when houses burn down every day from faulty wiring. makes no sense to me at all.
-
biz, as sod said the paper is inside the wire sheath and also the bare copper ground is wrapped in paper separately. I will second his suggestion to double check the connections to make sure they are tight, also make sure you have no exposed wire outside the wire nut that may have inadvertently touched the ground wire. If you cap off the common (hot) wire and the neutral and turn the breaker back on does the breaker trip? it may be something else on the circuit tripping the breaker. I would also check to make sure the switch is not faulty. would not be the first time I have seen a bad "new" switch. when in doubt call an electrician.

Well the took the gall bladder, and he said they found a hernea so they fixed that. Basically gave my guts an overhaul. They woke me up in post op told me what they did and said they were looking for a room. When they came back in i was completely dressed. No room for me doc I'm going home. This should be interesting, I'm getting ready to go plow snow, weeeeellll maybe not Judy just had a melt down about it...... I will go slow and if I can't clutch and shift I will figure out something. Man this getting old sucks. Sent from my LGL58VL using Tapatalk

If I can't be live in the woods, I wonder if the will let me do live from the operating room while they are slopping around in my guts. Did NOT need this today, WAY too much stuff going on for this. Sent from my LGL58VL using Tapatalk

yes they both get the same basic job done. The biggest difference is the fact that baiting with a timed feeder you can regulate when and where the deer will show up. I have watched first hand at my buddies place in jersey where they feed all year long, when that feeder goes off the deer and turkeys RUN out of the woods to the feeding area. The food plots they just meander in and out through out the day and night and the food variety benefits all different species of wildlife from mice to bears and a wide variety of birds. If taken care of properly provides food 12 months a year for all wildlife. I think a lot of the disdain for plots is the misconception that they have deer standing in them all day long just waiting to get shot and if you go by all the tv shows its understandable how a person could think that's how it is but nothing could be farther from the truth. how many folks on this board did food plots this past season and how many shot deer in them and how many hours was spent to get that deer in a plot?

that would be correct sir, those are the loading or off loading locations but barring those locations the normal missed, dropped grain while harvesting is not considered baiting....with that being said don't pick up missed ears of corn and toss them into your spread. for the most part they are not going to hassle you unless something looks out of place, for example little to no spilled corn in the field except throughout your spread the ground is covered with corn,,,in that case you are likely to get a few tickets.

If you don't post post pics of your deer your....

i never lie to people when they ask where I shot any deer I have ever shot., matter of fact I tell them exactly where I shot it. Last deer I said right behind his right front shoulder. Deer before that right behind his left front shoulder. you would be surprised how many internet scouters there are, don't believe it happens go on some waterfowl forums and see what gets said about posting even general locations. -
they are extremely destructive to farm equipment, they LOVE to chew hydraulic lines. Between farm equipment and coon hounds I have little tolerance for them, few hundred dollars for replacement hydraulic lines or a few hundred for vet bills tends to change your attitude. Luckily we don't have many around where I live in NY, but back home in Pa. they are becoming far more prevalent and with fishers being one of the only predators which we have very few of we take care of them on the farm. if they would leave the equipment, buildings, and trees alone we would get along fine.

normal "waste or spillage" while actually harvesting crops (corn, soy beans, sunflowers, etc) is not considered baiting, neither is leaving said crops standing. With that said if you go in and just brush hog, or pull corn or soybeans off and pile them up by your hunting location and yes even if you shake the apple tree to artificially put more apples on the ground where you are hunting all can be considered baiting.

if the deer was shot at 4:30/5:00 and he didn't go back in till after daylight this morning your at about 14 hours minimum thats a long time for a pack of hungry dogs to work over a carcass. I would venture to guess that your looking at the works of 4-6 yotes and seems that they carried off some of the parts. Also being in a swampy area you have coons, fox, possums, and you mentioned a fisher. with that many critters feeding on a found prize for upwards of 14 + hrs its not a surprise there is nothing left.

decided last minute to take one of my guns for a walk, snuck up to the hidden field and watched 10 doe and the big 8pt. feeding, really had no intentions of shooting a deer so I just watched them till 4:30 and walked back to the truck, came back to the house and set the gun in the drying room as it was covered with snow. will have to give them all a good wipe down tomorrow.

Can a bullet kill a deer even if you miss?
reeltime replied to Hunter007's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
all you have to do is take a look at the forehead of the doe as he is holding it up. The guy is so full of himself claiming it was an ethical shot and or ethical kill, but to claim the crap he is claiming he doesn't have a clue about physics. I can say from first hand experience that a .50 bmg fmj fired at 5 gallon plastic buckets filled with sand has a .50 cal hole in and a .50 cal hole going out, it didn't matter whether it was 100,200,300,400 yards same thing. A deer's nasal and orbital bones are tougher than a plastic bucket full of sand.....aaaaayyyyeeaaaah OK. shooting that .50 bmg was the most fun I ever had shooting a gun, also the most expensive $5.00 a shell for the military surplus ammo, the gun was a beast of a custom built bolt action that weighed in at 47 lbs, was probably close to 5' long. The recoil was less than my featherweight model 70's in .270 and 30-06 but holy cow the report was deafening even with ear plugs and ear muffs. but dang that was worth the drive to NH just to shoot that gun. -

looks like someone is upset over your new acquisition, unfortunately all you can do is clean it all up and not hunt there for 30 days unless you have a release from encon. If you have stands there make sure you check them every single time before climbing up as this person may have sabotaged your stands and or climbing sticks.

Actually there are hundreds of acres of the same stuff planted all around and on our farm. My plots are not visible from any roads so the deer can eat in peace without fear of roadhunters shooting them like they do in a lot of the hay fields around here. The deer do not come to the plots daily they do not lay up within earshot of the plot so when I go mow it they run in, but I have seen first hand what happens when they are conditioned to free feed handouts. My buddy lives in jersey, they "feed" all year with one of those green drum battery feeders. He has it on a block and tackle suspended off a large limb in the yard so the bears don't cart it off anymore. But anyway I have spent enough time there to know that when that feeder goes off you do NOT want to be standing in front of one of the deer trails coming into the yard! Deer are probably one of the easiest big game animals to domesticate, they have many pics of feeding the deer by hand. Sent from my LGL58VL using Tapatalk

You can mark me down for having food plots and not hunting them. Of all the properties I have close to 30 acres of plots and I do not have a single stand that covers one of those plots for bow and I do very little if any gun hunting. They are planted for the deer and turkeys. The plots on our pa home farm I have had in since 93 I have never killed a deer. On one of those plots and neither has dad, mom, and anyone that has hunted with me. Food plots are not baiting, taking a food source and placing it where wildlife can access it and become accustomed to an easy meal is considered baiting. Baiting is far more prevolant than people think. Sent from my LGL58VL using Tapatalk

Not sure, we are gonna use one of my pre 64 model 70's. The afternoon spot is set up and I told him they have to be IN the pasture before he is allowed to shoot that will put them at 30 yards or under. Its a tough situation and I'm fully aware of his desire to keep hunting but minga deer are NOT for target practice! I am trying not to let my frustrations show and although its a ton of responsibility for me to take him hunting the missing bothers me a lot. I told him that the deer come in there at 4pm so 345 we are going to give you a few extra doses of dopamine through the pump as he gets more tired later in the day. I told him to rest while I brought my new truck back to the dealer so they could finish up a few things since they had no time Saturday to do the stuff. Sent from my LGL58VL using Tapatalk

Well the 810group came in and frank pulled the shot high at 40 yards. I spent the last hour and a half searching and no blood. Gotta retool my set up for him. He has Parkinson's disease really bad and is having a tough time squeezing the trigger. That shot I watched him and he yanked the trigger hard. He said his fingers don't work good so I am going to break out one of my guns with a lighter trigger pull and set a table up in our afternoon spot and set him up on sandbags.
