I want to reload my own ammo
Single_shot replied to chiefbkt's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Oh the good ole days of reloading. Plan on spending alot of time....hope you have free time.An RCBS outfit would fit the bill just nice.I would suggest a nice digital scale over a beem....much quicker, You can find a decent used setup from forums like this or other forums.I could keep an eye out for you if you like.A garage would be ok for storage as long as there are no fast big changes in temp.Powder is like a gas tank on your car...if there is extreme temp change, you will get moisture.I kept my powder in the finished basement of my house and tightly sealed...it will keep virtually forever. I also let the local FD people(I live by and know most of them) what room of the basement was stocked with powder and alot (a lot ) of rounds loaded....so if there were a fire, they would treat that area as hostile. They thanked me for it. I would strongly suggest you get with your work friend to get you started for the first few rounds. There are alot of things that can go wrong the bad way if done incorrectly. Have fun and be safe. -
Sometimes before...sometimes after...sometimes not at all for days. To me,it's a PITA. When it starts getting itchy scratchy...then I shave LOL

Welp,I would 2nd the notion that it should not be loaded that way....leaves too much to error. JMO If you are having a hard time loading, then try a different sabot. Some start easier than others. My buddy had a hard time getting his started this past season and tried one of mine, worked perfect for him.Same cal.

Will do Shaun.

I would'nt mind giving that a try myself next season. Do you have any Pa. contacts to move it down here? If not,I may be able to help with that.Let me know.

Last time I hunted up there,we were allowed to return with meat and rack only....no brain/skull. That is a helluva deer ,very nice.

I just bought the wife ,the 10 1/2" Lodge Dutch oven for Christmas. Heavy unit it is. I have used other antique cast iron stuff that all worked well except 1 pan always had a sticking issue. No matter what I tried to correct it,it did not work.Lodge seems to make pretty high quality stuff so I would think they will take care of you.Let us know.

Might find all the info he needs like that if the county has a link like this... http://rptsweb.oswegocounty.com/search.aspx

We need you to go up there like now......we want to see trailcam pics by tomorrow. When they got done building our cabin "shell", end of Feb and colder than a..it was lucky to see double digits in the afternoon weather. The wife and I made the 3hr 15min drive up to spend a weekend in it... because we just had to be there, no heat,no power,no nothing. We set a tent up,inside the place, cooked on a small Coleman. We insulated the walls, our first project. Damn,I'll never do that again, lol.Ahh hell, yes I would. Man your gonna want to spend every weekend there!

I hear ya...just make sure they are "inside" then...

Let me know if it works for you.I may even give a go,as the wife and I like it on a vast amount of different plates. Otherwise,we always grab EXTRA packs when at the fast food places for the cabin trips...lol

"Governor Tom Corbett has signed Pennsylvania Castle Doctrine legislation into law. This common-sense measure permits law-abiding citizens to use force, including deadly force, against an attacker in their home and any place where they have a legal right to be. It also protects individuals from civil lawsuits by an attacker or attacker’s family when force is used. " Gotta love it,good for her.Saw it on the news this am. They don't have to be in the house anymore.

Congrats Geno...Oh what a feelin! Now you get to spend all your money on a cabin,a driveway, plots, machines the never ending list,LOL But it's the best! Good luck!

When the wife and I were trimming trees around the cabin, she was going to burn all the limbs (Mrs.Clean anti clutter LOL)....I told here no way, pile them up for the critters. She did burn some, but we did make a few good size piles as well.I think that really helps the critters. As far as rabbits,I have only seen 1 set of tracks at the cabin in 6K so far. Grouse,I have one over on the stone wall by the apple trees all the time.He drums alot. His mate was killed down by the gate, found her feather ball. He did have another move in over the late summer, and he has been quiet. I won't shoot him or her ever. If I had alot of them,yes...

Aye...same here. Time to hybernate.Laid off for winter,no $ to do much, but do have a trip for a few days set at Harrahs in AC at the end of Jan.Play some poker, get stupid juiced and win some $ hopefully to put in the cabin fund for spring. Meat is in the freezer, bills are paid, had a great time in the woods and with friends. This time of year,is free time to pre build some items for the cabin....like 2 large benches for sitting by the fire pit.Maybe some bird feeders too.We enjoy the birds at the cabin...they watch for us,they know when we are there, and wait for us to put seed out. I have lake front property here where I live and when we EVER get ice (if) I will be drilling holes for perch and eyes.Hunting mode is done for me.
