Not true if you look into the processor enough. I usually do my own but the one I take some to def is your deer. It's a year round shop but is mostly venison during deer season. They have a system that one deer only comes into the process area. Your invoice and number never leave the deer. Once skinned, butchered and packaged it goes into the blast freezer in a box with the invoice you signed. Area is then cleaned before the next one comes in. And the number changes. They do tell you that if you get hotdogs or a specialty sausage it will be a mix of others deer. On invoice they even note certain things about your deer. One year my muzzleloader bullet was in a bag taped to the box. And said " found in left shoulder, lost some meat there due to damage,". But if you take it to just any old place I would agree. Saw an interesting cut on meateater the other day. A chef on there basically filleted the meat off the outside of ribs and then rolled it up with jalapenos, onions a little bacon with a mustard rub and cooked it in a Dutch oven. Might have to try it. Didnt go Sunday - just wasnt feeling it. Have a 3 day weekend coming up off and right now im a little Meh about hunting. Im sure i will go at least one of the days though. Only need one deer for the freezer so thinking more into it when does and fawns split and bucks start roaming. Just off this year i guess.

ive kinda been this way too this season. Hopefully the rut will change that

i dont belive this at all- i think its hyperbole from him. That 90% of people cant shoot a deer at 10 yards? it isnt that hard to shoot a bow. Sounds more like to me he might think he is a champion archer as well. That being said most bad shots are taken cause its the heat of the moment excitement, a poor decision on when to shoot, etc. And i also believe that not all practice has to come out of a treestand to be proficient. I am no champion archer, Ive made some great shots and have made some poor ones. Its far more about when is it a good shot, what is a good range for you, far more than not being able to shoot 20 yards. And just because i dont practice out of a blind doesnt mean i should limit myself to 10-15 yards. I think he is exaggerating. Now i would say inexperienced archers or any archers shouldnt be shooting past what they are effective at on the range for sure. And even archers that are able to hit at 70 yards shouldnt shoot that far at a whitetail.

I've got a 5 day work week this week, then not another one til 2nd week of December. That drop in the temp looks good but looks like lake effect rain Fri into sat ... i had this happen once and thought it was a Bobcat, but went back the next day and there were 3 porcupines in a huge pine tree. Then i did some looking into it and they will screech like that. Scared the crap out of me and my brother up in the Dacks walking out in the dark. Hey it couldve been a Squatch! lol

thats what Crappy is doing! has to fill the freezer with Venison while hes out there to break even on the trip! Awesome offers for sure- very cool.

Hunt #2 Littlefield stand 3-dark. Didn't see a thing, or hear a thing. Got busted on the way out. Had a deer on neighbors property blowing at me but never saw it. Corey had some action at swamp stand. .had a doe come out but no shot, was out of range. Pulled cam card at Littlefield. Pic of the 6 point that's been there a bit. Some does and a large yote. This little doe has an ear all torn up. And the pics of these two fawns all week have been without mom. Wonder if something happened to her and defending them from yotes? ...
