Hunt #1 dark- 9am. Pine tree stand Got out of truck with plans to hunt the closest stand at roadkill. Walked 40 yards and can see deer over by that stand in the first light. Corey and I back out and doe starts to blow at us. She does this like 12 times. Then trots up the trail with two fawns in tow. So I go over to Pine tree stand and Corey goes to wayback. Millers is awesome! Used to have a camp on Chase lake and stopping there was a must. My brother and Dan are good friends and went to school together. I have the worst luck with waders. I just buy a cheap pair now. The more expensive ones I might get an extra year out of them , but I don't use them enough that it's worth it. Went out and pulled down stakes and ribbon by plot at lawn stand. That plot is spotty. Don't see any of the winter peas we put out and some of the radish is trashed from too much recent rain. But there is sections of radish, brassicas etc out there and it looks better than the rest of the field area. Pulled cam cards and the one cam wasn't working for some reason. No pics. The other is video I will have to download. Shot the bow and it's GTG. Two small properties before hunting spot a nice buck was out chowing down in a field at 10:30 am and still there when I came back thru at 11:30. Now some ribs on the smoker and making an apple pie. not all of them are like that. The one i go to is awesome - Marsh Mill in Bridgeport. very, very clean and they have a process of one deer in at a time. Everything is very professional with great packaging. They cost maybe $10-$20 more but its well worth it. If taking a deer there the first time they take you for a tour even to be sure you see the operation. But i have dropped off deer for people at other places and walked away saying no way ever! I like to do my own but sometimes just pressed for time. Plus its nice to get a doe drop it off and be able to hunt right away again for a buck.

My buddy shot a deer 2nd day of gun last year and they wouldnt even take the deer cause they had so many. yeah it def gets crazy. i will take one in or do it myself. Mostly depends on if i have the time or not. But the gun opener i woudl def plan on doing it myself.
