ITS A HUNTING SITE. As i said- great topic - belongs in the political section. Im gonna post my walleye catches on everyones journal this weekend because i think its worthy. As soon as i go squirrel hunting i think i will start a topic in the gear discussion area and then after i cook them maybe post that in the fishing section. Your right it makes total sense... Staffing shortage for sure which we had before covid but it is worse now. More competition for the same people and less people working. Also it seems more jobs available than people to work with extra unemployment or not.

At work some of the vehicles we would have bought by now we can't even get quotes for cause they aren't in production yet due to catching up and shortages.

Very sorry to hear about your Dad. Great on you with restoring that rifle. I have my Dad's .22 he bought when he was 14 and used it to help feed his younger brothers and sisters during tough times. I have also cleaned it all up and it hangs on my wall.

Well every news outlet has seen ratings fall thru the floor. This gives them a chance to try to be relevant and get some viewership back. I have argued all along that many news outlets may not like Trump but they also love him. And if they can poke and cause him to get fired up and have controversy it drives up ratings and there pockets. Never think that the old mighty dollar doesn't drive these media companies even more than politics. Controversy brings cash. Just like we watch the weather when a storm is coming in and no one cares when it's 70 and sunny. Bring the press a good story with meat on the bone for ratings and what or who's for dinner doesnt matter.

And your stating that we haven't had an attack in the last 20 years because we are in Afghanistan. And that country is a very small part of it. Iran is the head of the snake for funding and these groups move as need be. Also what changes have we affected. In 48 hours it's the same ole same ole. Your telling me we couldn't have spent a trillion dollars and 2300 American lives better by bolstering our own military and security and not be better for it then pissing it into that hole? To get what? I don't know why you think that being in Afghanistan was such an effective move as it has had so little effect on them or us or the region. We easily could have been out of there in a year after we pounded them for a bit, we didn't need to stay after for any reason. We would use the same actions we used in those 20 years to successfully defend ourselves against Iran, Iraq, Syrian, etc terrorist groups. 911 was a one shot deal that got by us while we were asleep at the wheel. No reason to keep arguing with you we will have to just disagree on this one. Although I bet we agree on 90% of other things and both are probably voting about the same way.

Afghanistan is one country out of 20 + that are viable threats to the US for terrorism. Keeping our troops in that one country cannot be the reason that we haven't seen extremist foreign terrorism within our country. Afghanistan is just one small piece of the pie. It was Homeland security and overseas operatives in multiple countries that we didn't occupy for 20 + years, keeping us safe. We had to have an immediate response after 911. But we should've been out by 2002. But no president wanted to be the one to pull out our response to 911 without having Bin laden. Then once we started nation building our getting out was always going to be mess.

nope no large terrorist attacks on our soil- just 2,300 dead american soldiers. Sorry i dont see that as a win either. If IFs and Buts were candies and nuts we'd all have a Merry Xmas. Bottom line is those all failed, there was no reason to think Afghanistan wasnt going to be the same. And it was.

and yes Iraq went so well. So we went into Afgahnistan cause it had the least risk of Pakistan or Iran. Do you reallly think that the Taliban and the other groups have no crossover? Did you forget Bin laden was in Pakistan hiding? Do you think that Iran isnt more of threat to us than anyone and doesnt fund all these groups.... should we go in there now? No thanks! we shouldnt touch foot in that whole area or bomb it all level and make it a parking lot for Israel. This going in and molding countries doesnt work - see your own reference to Vietnam. Boots on the ground didnt work either.

cant stand Biden - top of the list for worse presidents. But if you think Trump getting the forces out of there as he pledged was gonna be all roses your looking thru the orange man glasses. There was going to be an insurrection - the Taliban had a year to plan it when they first announced this. I mean the leadership of Afghanistan that ran and hid to the next Stan over while their country fell into chaos. I cant see much of anything that Biden does as good at all but this mess isnt all on him - it was 20 years in the making. Why do you think no other president did it... cause this is what would happen 100%. It maybe shows more poor decision making on him again that he didnt just kick the can down the road rather than take the heat for the mess that was waiting. But im glad we are out of there. Its a rabbit hole.
