lol. Nope been locked in. Gotta check it and see what its running. I was running 9.2 prior 3 months and 11 YTD. But i am in a little more conservative program since i have less than 10 years to retire. update - just checked it - YTD 13.09. ! Anything over 5 for the next few years i should be good

im not a muzzleloader expert by any means but im thinking 50g is bit light. I would use 100. I use 777 100 grains with a 245 powerbelt and its the most accurate one shot 100 yard gun i have. (TC impact)

Biz - a tree stand....... and love power lines. Ive shot a few there. Dont overlook trails just inside the powerline edges. During season with any pressure they often tend to walk along the inside edges of those just out of view .

Would start with a couple 1/8 and 1/4 oz jig heads (i would get a couple of whistler type) with a package of 3 + 4" twister tails, a couple of black and purple hair jigs also in 1/8 and 1/4 oz, a couple of stickbaits like a rapala x rap, husky jerks or challenger minnows 3-1/2 in - 4-1/2 in for walleye casting. For northerns I would also use the stickbaits (esp the 4 1/2 inch) but also throw in a couple of inline spinners in the 3/4 oz size such as mepps or vibrax, a couple of daredevils in 3/4 oz. and light wire leaders. I would use the 6" they usually are enough and youll get more stirkes. That would about cover the basics for you to get started. oh and a package of something of a swim bait - can get them in packs all hooked up and ready to go, 3,4 5" in a minnow pattern and fish them slow, with a quick twitch here and there to trigger strikes.

Lets have fun with it. 2021 HuntingNY Forum Fantasy Pick ‘em - Runs for 12 weeks beginning 9/27- 12/21 - Must pick a member of the forum for each week prior to Sunday at midnight of that week, and post weekly running log of all picks each time on the score thread. Put Forum member name in by “Hunter__________” and post for weekly pick. See examples below - Cannot change your pick once you have picked them. - Can only use any single hunter once and cannot pick yourself as a hunter. a few pics of our little food plot. I have 100s of pics of these fawns chasing each other. Its hilarious. Wish i had it on video. There is a mom and twin fawns and then this yearling that comes in and they just start chasing each other - pretty cool last fawn pic looks like a future buck - think we will give him at least another year. lol last two pics of a 3pt that never leaves the area i have 40-50 pics of him.

Any bear sign? Always hear about PA bears and how there is so many and big ones.

The political section is already set up that way. The problem was people weren't posting threads in that section so it was always there.

Ive been on here for years and have yet to see a post saying there is too much hunting talk on this site. Well except for yours of course. Lol

It's killing this place, not keeping it alive. Lots have left or don't even come on much anymore. The feedback is mostly negative. Dunno if you saw today's earlier messes but calling each other out with f bombs and Nazis etc is not what I want out of a hunting site on the main page.

Most of us open it with "recent topics". Lately all that has been there are these political threads that are stuck in the general chit chat area. The political section doesnt show up there. You have to look for it. Then the same few bicker and call each other out over and over and it just stays there on the front page in your face. It's embarrassing for a hunting site. Anyway I've said my piece on it, I feel like many others feel the same way. Including the mod today that stepped in and I am grateful for.

Not looking to ignore it at all. It has a place here. In the political section. So that people can discuss it. But you shouldn't open the site and on the main page is 5 political topics where people are calling each other out . The same few people over and over again. Have no problem with political discussion, just it needs to stay there and when it gets too nasty be ended. As you said other sites are even worse. Well let's not get to that point. No one wants that. And def don't need anyone overzealous just someone to do what WNY did today when it gets out of hand. It's a 15 minute fix. And you must see how many people are upset by what has been going on here. It also turns away new people to see on the main page a political argument that was on there today. I try out a hunting site for the first time and see all that , I am gone. Politics is fine. It's a hunting site. If hunting conversation is boring there are other places to look for political conversation. Lots of them

This forum has been going for many years on it's premise of hunting and some great folks. There are lots of political outlets and even a spot here for it. The issue has been the political posts dominating the place for a very few to argue about. Just needs a little housekeeping just like WNY did today. A hunting site doesn't need to be dominated by political topics that always always turn ugly. Look at any of them for an example. They are a mess. I also at times like to talk politics but it shouldn't be the main topic here and have to search for hunting and outdoor ones on a site designed for it. And this is the way this site has always been. Politics on the side please. It's been going strong for al ong time only recently has it become so bad. Those of us that prefer to actually talk about hunting on a hunting site can easily talk about hunting and all it brings us, without calling out each other and making it ugly. It's been working for years.

Wow an elk trip is like every hunters dream trip. I would be obsessed with getting ready. Lol Please post a bunch of pics of the trip so we can live it thru you!

What matters most is making it work for all going and have fun. Might even get a deer or two. Hopefully you'll hit a nice cold front in those days. Good luck

When does PA open? Starting off the season there or going later in the year?

Lol Grampy. We were thinking the same . It's like the humidity leaving. I would do it if it would help, I'm also ok with any others that might be better. I just hate to see this place like this. So many good folks around for this to keep happening. John and Eddie I think both did/do a great job, it just seems they have moved on and not around as much as they used to. It happens. I'm sure there are a few here that would do a great job. Place just needs a little help from time to time keeping it civil and focused.

WNYBuckHunter was on for a bit and looks like he straightened some things out. Like a breath of fresh air on here for sure .
