  1. Congrats to Dad! A day all three generations will remember I am sure
  2. The GF always tells me "good luck, I get first pic". Then hunting buddy Corey and then prob you dorks. Lol.
  3. Imitation crab cooked in butter over some crunchy ciabata bread and some grated parm. @The_Real_TCIII
  4. Ham and spinach omelette. Stupid common sense making me stay indoors today....so far.....
  5. Looks great Grampy. Thanks for posting pic. Like it a lot.
  6. Most likely done til one last try Monday. Sat it's supposed to pour and Sunday 25-40 mph winds.
  7. No luck buddy. Didn't see anything else. Rushed back home to shower and change for an Xmas party.
  8. Hunt #60- 6S light to 3:45pm. Sat in big buck stand for about 4 hours. Then took a walk to try to see if could jump something in bedding areas by other stand. Sure did. A nice buck prob a 7-8 point. Stepped into little section of woods and 3 steps he jumps up and off like a jet. Had gun up and hammer back but no shot. Flying away in heavy brush and a loud meh didn't stop him. Then back in stand til 3 and took a little walk thru two other places on way to truck but nothing. That buck would've def made my season. But just didn't have a shot.
  9. Was just an almost. Walked over to some bedding areas 500 yards downwind where deer don't usually come to the stand I was in. And no sooner step in woods and hear crunching pull up and nice buck in the thick gone like a jet. Was running hard quartering away and real thick stuff. No shot. Not a wall hanger but a solid euro. Would guess seven or small 8. Damn so close. Bedded right between two of my stands. Pushed into a couple other spots and now back on cornfield hoping for something a little slower to come thru. That buck def would've made the season!!
  10. Damn it I knew I shouldn't have took a leak..... That's awesome.lol Time to take a quick walk. Was gonna have some cider but sounds like inside of my thermos smashed. Quick walk to a couple close bedding spots and then back to stand
  11. Well I can tell u what's behind me. An Amish shitspreader with a 3 horse team. That ought to cover my scent.
  12. I feel like I being reverse baited. Got up stand and big pile of corn on my seat. Had to sweep it off to sit. But if they knew me at all they should be using ham sandwiches. At least this stand is productive for the squirrels. Was a pretty fresh set of tracks on way in.
  13. Headed out . Looking like today might have to be it . Heavy rain Saturday and 30-40 mph wind on Sunday.... Good luck all that are out
  14. Don't need to be a fool to prefer wild game to each their own. I always enjoy game I have harvested more than brought to me on a plate. Just a preference. Will take a home cooked meal over a restaurant meal most of the time. Foolish or not.
  15. Richer men wish they had it that good ! There is NOTHING better than that in any restaurante!
  16. After today I am off for 4 days for last push. I am planning to sit all day tomorrow- packing a lunch and thermos to get some work done out there. Wind is right for the big buck stand on the cornfield.
  17. Thanks. I will prob have to put a board down anyway cause it's soft where I am looking to put it. One I have now I have a hard time drawing bow in it with my big ass in there. Plus the color it is will really stickout in the cattails and grass there. Thinking I might also buy some of that duck grass wrap and cover it up with that too.
  18. i am looking at one of these too cause i want the grass pattern for where i want to put it by a pond. Are the windows still low enough to shoot out of while sitting? they seem pretty high .
  19. real wet in some places - used to be farmland - converted to wetlands. Current trails stay pretty dry. Area we want to cut a trail should be ok unless water gets real high like it did a couple years ago in the spring. but mid summer and before season trails are usually good to get thru.
