    Yeah actually saw some deer tonite. 2 does but out of range . First deer in 2 days hunting. Back out in am of course

    In a real close stand cause looks like rain moving in. Have shot a deer or three from here before. 150 yards from the truck. But on the way in there is a yote in a little side field hunting frogs. He wasn't paying any attention. Snuck up to to with 45 yards and barely sailed one over his back. It was fun. Surprised I got that close, my wind was even going that way.

    Went to a stand i haven't been in this year and not a thing . Stayed til almost noon. Gonna a be back out in a couple hours. Persistent right..... Been a tough year so far. Barely seen many does even.

    Might as well take up falconry, bow hunting you got and gonna run low on tags soon! Might as well make it challenge! Lol That 4 point with your group was really cool. I always say I pass on anything 4 and under but not that one! Although this year I might have to take a 4, been tough

    Steve Rinella on Meateater does a whole show on how to break down a deer. He does osso buco for the lower leg. I always grind it. But def a good tutorial.

    On this pic...starting from top left Top part is steaked out, next is roast, next is a cube steak. Little parts on the right side are stew meat, then a filleted out piece to be a stuffed steak in a pinwheel, then bottom stew or to grind.

    Saw another 2 yotes tonite . Not a single deer all day. Different county I was hunting so def different yotes. Couldn't get a shot....need a gun.. Been a tough year for me so far. Seeing a lot less deer than usual. But I guess one big buck or one good day turns that around.

    Thanks. I never heard of this happening and he just couldn't figure it out. He had a nocturnal I gave him , the rest of his regular arrows worked fine. But unfortunately he found this out while drawing on a deer. I've never had any issues with nock size. I guess I thought they were all about the same.

    Just got back home sat til 11 never saw a deer. 2 yotes, 4 squirrels and a tick on my sleeve. The yotes were crazy. Got in on a field edge on the second step of stand and two come trotting by at 12 yards and looking right at where I just went in. I scooted up the ladder quick and they ran across the field. I felt like I was being hunted. This was my view this morn. But never a deer in it. I was pretty juiced about this am. Hope the pm is better. Beautiful morning though.

    The arrow wouldn't even go with the string when he drew it back. It just stayed in the biscuit.

    Had one right behind me in the thick stuff of course. Within 25 yards and couldn't even see it. I could see the brush even moving and it was crunching and breaking brush on the way thru. But it just didn't walk out . My buddy drew back on a doe and the arrow fell off, tried to draw again and the arrow didn't come with the string. All I can think is the nock is broke. But this is where I spent the afternoon. If only the deer came out in front , instead of behind me. But it certainly wasn't shy was making quite a racket back there . Going back to my favorite area tomorrow cause the wind is right.

    headed out in 30 minutes. Gonna hunt a stand ive only been in once in last 2 years. A short 9 ft but tucked in, and opened up some extra shooting lanes across from it. Wind is actually weird there as right in front of it not the best but i am expecting deer to be more on each side where there is a trail. Start it off tonite and then have the next three days off. Weekend looks like crap

    Loving that your having a hell of a time out there. Lol. Looks like the same buck I passed on last year. They could be twins. Only one that can say whether you shoulda or not is you. Big body on that boy for sure.
