  13. People did. Fisherman. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I banged a few girls on local public fishing properties back in the day, never during hunting season. Too cold outside for that.
  15. I don't know all the ins and outs of the types of Jews. The ones I know do not wear yamakas, don't have long hair, don't home on Fridays before sundown, etc.
  16. Most of the hunters I know personally are all jewish. I don't know the %'s but I would think jews are a very high % of Westchester county and Manhattan.
  17. I have a jewish last name, but I am a catholic. My Dad's grandparents were practicing jews, but not his parents or him. So my parents were married in a church and I was raised catholic. My Dad told me that his Dad always took him out of NYC to the catskills on those September jewish holidays so that they could hunt small game.
  18. Congrats! What are the perks of being "pro-staff" for these companies?
  19. Thursday, 11/12/15: No hunting by either of us. I was at work, and my Dad stayed in due to the rain. My dad will be back out there tomorrow. I should be back out Saturday afternoon and maybe sunday morning.

  21. For those who kill illegal deer before sunrise or after sunset here in NY, please answer my question from above. Is baiting ok to in NY? illegal is illegal right, what is the difference? Further, after sunset on the last day is out of season, so is out of season now ok too? Shooting a deer the afternoon before opening day is out of season, same as shooting one in July, or shooting one before sunrise on opening morning. Do I personally agree with NY's law on the timing provisions? NO. I've hunted other states where it is 1/2 hr before/after. I think that is better. Do I obey NY's law on the timing provisions? YES. Whatever I state I hunt, I follow that particular state's rules. When I play golf, could I take a mulligan to help improve my score? Yes, but I would never do this. I would just be cheating myself out of a legitimate score, so what's the point? Some guy can steer their conscience to make it OK in their minds to bend the rules in their favor. I know I could do it without getting caught, but I wouldn't be proud of the deer then knowing I bent rules to get it done.
  22. If shooting before sunrise or after sunset is ok because other states allow it, then is baiting ok because other states allow it? I don't see how anybody can say illegal baiting in NY is any worse than illegal shooting before/after legal hours. There's 2 types of deer killed here in Ny that we are discussing; illegal shot ones and legal shot ones. Pretty easy to determine which is which. Like I said before, getting away with an illegal shot deer is easy. Enjoying that picture or mount on your wall knowing you "bent" the rules is something you have to deal with it. I couldn't deal with it and be happy knowing I cheated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. What about 15 min late on the last day? Now your not even in season. For me, it's a personal thing. I want to do it right the way for my personal achievements. Could I bait and and get away with it? For sure, but I wouldn't want to look at those antlers or pictures of the deer I killed over it. Same goes for before/after legal hours. I've caught some big bass the day before the season opens, could I have kept them without getting caught? Of course, but again it would eat me alive. In 2014 In Wyoming I scouted on 9/30, the day before opening day 10/1. I had my rifle with me incase I came across a coyote. I had this buck 30 yards from me. Could I have killed it and got away with it? Of course, but once again it would eat me alive. No difference between 15 min early on 10/1 or the afternoon of 9/30, both are out of season. To each their own, but I like to know I did it the legal way. I don't buy the comparison to other non hunting related laws. Just don't see it. If you want to compare it to driving cars, illegal would be using illegal parts I guess in a race. You might get away with it, you might not. When legal sunset hits, I stand up and unload my gun or take the bolt out of my xbow. I've been hunting 16 years and never had a deer come by while I was unloading. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I've always just tried to go no scent, no cover scents. I shower unscented and keep all clothes that are washed unscented in air tight containers. I spray down before walking into woods. I've never had an issue with deer spooking before it's too late. I've had them as close as 5 yards many times and I'm on the ground, no treestands or blinds Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
