WNY - under 200 im saying only because my Dad just shot a 6+ year old Mule Deer recently and the belly was almost on the ground and it was probably only like 230-240 according to our guide. Mule deer are bigger deer than whitetails. The guts alone looked 2-3 times bigger than any gut pile I've seen from a whitetail Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have no idea about this hunt, but maybe the "amenities" are access to land with lots of deer, lodging, food, etcSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Why do you need a blind or stand to hunt? I've never used either in my life. Always hunt from the ground sitting or walking Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I remember once reading that Nantucket has like 60 deer per sq mile and the something like 50% of all residents have Lyme disease Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've heard of construction workers taking big bucks in the yonkers area with a bow. Again, no hunting allowed but some people just break the rules/laws. Personally, I'd never do it because I'd be too embarrassed to have my name in the paper for illegally hunting nor would I be proud of an illegally taken buck. Same goes for the guys who bait in Putnam. I've seen Texas style feeders on private property that borders state lands. I feel sorry for these pathetic self proclaimed hunters. I just keep grinding it out legally and someday I'll be super proud of 100"+ buck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

works good for golf. not sure it would be much help for hunting here in NY unless you used it to spy on an open field before getting there. -
Guess I misunderstood. Sounded like he drove there lol.

Yea they are very similar. We shot them about 3 miles apart. Although mine was bigger, my Dads was definitely older. As I mentioned before, my Dads buck had no teeth left so most likely a buck that was on the decline Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've thought about a free range axis deer hunt. But not sure about $2k for a 1 day hunt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yea, for sure. Although my Dad is only 60 and has many years left to hunt (hopefully), this was the first trip ever where he didn't keep up the whole time. He was a few hundred yards behind when we did some walks that covered several miles. The guide and I dragged his mule deer for him all the way to the truck since it was all up hill. Regardless, it was still better to have him there than not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Been on a lot of hunts the last few years. Nothing big planned yet. Getting married next year so I got a bachelor party in miami beach and honeymoon in Hawaii next year, nothing hunting planned. I did start buying points for elk in Wyoming this year so that's a possibility down the road. I'd also like to maybe go back to Wyoming with my xbow and try to get a mule deer in velvet. I stick with my initial estimate of greater than 20" (OUTSIDE SPREAD). Assuming tip of ear to tip of ear is 16" on a whitetail, I think this buck is just bigger than 2" on each side, thus giving him 20"+ as an outside spread.

I have save every single license from every state I ever hunted. I put them in album with my notes/story and pictures.

Greater than 20".

Thanks again to everyone. This time we did not bring any meat home. Only the capes and antlers/horns. 2 years ago, we tried bringing back some backstraps and of course those boxes didn't make our connecting flight and the meat spoiled. This time, we gave the meat of all 3 animals to our guide, who kept some for himself and gave the rest of it to the guys who work on his ranch. It was a win-win for everyone since we didn't have to pay for butchering and they got a bunch of meat for free and were very grateful.
