  1. why not? whats the difference? I can have my 103 year old grandma sign over a doe permit, but not her buck permit? why?
  2. Putnam used to always have them. Westchester is bow only for deer, but there are several westchester spots you can hunt with shotgun for small game/turkey. EVEN THE BRONX HAS A BUNCH LOL
  3. Why aren't there any courses listed for Putnam County and/or Westchester County for Gun? I have been looking for months now on behalf of others. I know a few people who want to take it.
  4. Buck tags should be transferrable too. I dont see the difference. If Person A gets a buck, Person B gets a buck, and Person C gets a buck. 3 legal bucks were killed. If Person A gets 3 bucks (his own, and Person B and C's signed over to him). 3 legal bucks were killed. Maybe Person B/C can only hunt 2 days or something?
  5. Oh ok, I was under a different impression. Good Luck.
  6. I thought it was YOUR land....is what I meant. Sounds like you live right near where you hunt, so keeping people off your property shouldn't be an issue.
  7. I thought this is all on private land?
  8. Sit on the ground with rifle/shotgun, be scent-free, and don't move for 3-4 hours at a time. You will see bucks.
  9. You better get a buck this season....If not, your doing someting seriously wrong.
  10. Not sure about where we would hunt for deer (if I get a lion). I only know where we hunted for lions, which my guide asked that I keep to myself.
  11. I will be with my mt. lion guide. If and only if I get a lion first, will I then try for a deer. It would just be a bonus....figured since im there, why not apply. He told me the units to pick. I'd love to get a deer in velvet, thats cool! Would make a cool mount.
  12. I will be in Arizona 10/27 - 11/3. I put in for 2 Coues Deer tags during those dates as my top 2 choices, and my 3rd and 4th choices were Mule Deer tags that start on 11/2 or 11/3 If I remember correctly, so that would only give me 1-2 days to get one. TOTAL PAID TODAY: $12.50 CHOICE 1 CHOICE 2 CHOICE 3 CHOICE 4 CHOICE 5 HUNT CHOICES: 01116 01112 01068 01056 TOTAL DUE LATER IF SUCCESSFULLY DRAWN: $225.25*
  13. I read that article and disagree with it.... There are several Excalibur Crossbows that are great for under $800. that include the quiver, a good scope, rope cocking aid, 4 bolts, etc.
  14. Yup, did landscaping, etc when I was in college. Played a double header in men's softball last night, it was a beautiful night. I agree. That's why I am happy I only work a 35hr work-week with 6+ weeks vacation my friend. The rest of my time is spent outside, fishing, golf, hunting, softball, etc.
  15. Just checked my banking online and found this charge: 07-17-2012 *DEBIT AUTHORIZATION Jul17 06:58p 6943 AT 18:58 AZ GAME AND FISH D 866-3866210 $ 225.25 Looks like I got drawn for either a Mule Deer or Coues Deer Tag, while I'm in AZ for my Mt. Lion hunt....should find out within the next day or two.
  16. I can never understand any of your posts. Are you a caveman?
  17. It's summer....why is everyone making a big deal out of it? It's 95+ degrees here in NYC and I'm in a suit. It happens every summer. Why is everyone crying?
  18. I hunt from the ground....I got the Excalibur Vortex because its 200lb (which is NYS max). I have the lumizone scope which is awesome. I used it in PA & NY last year. I like the fact that if I bust a string, I can just put a new one on myself and not be looking for a bow shop to help me out. I took this porcupine with it in PA last year.

    Who would

Honestly, I probably wouldn't. I would then spend my November's in states where I could hunt bucks. In the last 20 years my Dad and I have combined for 23 bucks (18 for him, 5 for me) out of 8 acres of private property in 3N and only took 1 doe out of there (my first deer at 16 years old). I know we should be taking does, however, when we see deer its usually 50-50 that it will be a buck. Ever year there always seems to be at least 1 7-9 point buck and a few smaller bucks and never overrun by does. Why is this? By shooting bucks each year do new ones move in? Any input would be great. Thanks.
  20. Funniest Town Name in New York.......goes to yours my friend! I could never help but to laugh everytime I passed your town on my way to Montreal.
  21. Hillbillies!! The pic isn't even that old, the Red Corvette in the pic proves that the pic is 1997 or newer!
  22. Too low or too high? I don't hunt with a bow, so it would be gun season. Not sure if your rifle or shotgun? I would hunt the first 2 days of gun (saturday and sunday) in my normal spot. Then i'll hunt thanksgiving in my normal spot. If I dont get a buck then I would come up Friday (day after T-giving). Hunt Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Something like $500 up front, $500 additional if I get a buck. We could write up a simple contract, etc. I actually work a large law firm in NYC. How many acres do you have? I wouldn't be bringing any treestands or anything. It would only be my father and I. My father and I have been emailing realtors in our area like crazy, trying to lease land for November & December just so we don't have to end up hunting state land in our area with the big crowds. No luck so far, they all never heard of such of thing, etc.....
