  1. In all honesty....$1,000 for a 3 day hunt with good buck potential is a great deal in my opinion. Beats paying $3-$5K to go to the midwest + flights, etc and might not get anything anyway. Besides a nice 11pt I got Michigan in 2004, I have 5 bucks in NY (all in Putnam County -3N). 1 small basket 8, a 4, a 3, and 2 spikes.
  2. $1,000 for 3 days? I won't shoot anything you don't want me to.
  3. How about I pay you $500 for a 3-day hunt? ps- I am not joking.
  4. 1/2 day off from work this morning. Hit Kensico Reservoir and Got 7 Lake Trout and 2 Smallmouth Bass this morning 645am -10am. Biggest Lakers were 25" - 5.5lb. and 23" - 4.25lb. Smallies were 17" and 19" - 3.25lb.
  5. It's my hunting and fishing ride....back seats fold down, my 7' rods fit perfectly from trunk to between the driver and passenger seat.....got the oars that break in half, so those fit too. People in the middle of nowhere PA did look at me funny on the side of the road, in the pitch black, dressed in camo, pulling a crossbow out of my trunk and walking onto state land lol.
  6. You want AWD without the risk of flipping? Get a BMW. I bought a 2001' 330XI with 50K miles a couple years back for only $11K cash off an old couple. I took it in the heavy snow storm on Halloween this year 5 hours to Pennsylvania to my hunting outfitters lodge....At first he laughed at me when meeting me for the first time sayin "This is the first BMW in camp ever in 50 years".....then he took me serious when the guys from NJ and Vermont couldnt make it that day because of the snow even with their SUV's and Pickups. Even with the AWD I get 24-25MPG on the highway, which isn't bad at all. Oil changes once a year or every $15K miles, never had any issues with it....couldn't be happier....
  7. I'm just happy 3N doesn't have AR's.....Any buck in 3N is a good buck....I pass smaller bucks early in the shotgun season, but towards the end I have no problem taking a spike.
  8. They have to redo everything because the crossbow is going to be allowed in archery this year! WOOT WOOT!
  9. Excalibur Recurve! Won't be disappointed.
  10. A few more from Saturday... 23" Laker and a 19.5" Brown Trout (3 3/4lb.) Got 4 Lakers, 2 Smallies, 1 Brown Trout in 3 hours Saturday morning.
  11. yea, high 80's and you can stay in there for hours upon hours.
  12. that puddle must be piss warm! Gotta be close to 90 degrees no?
  13. Thanks, took me a couple of years to get the right technique down to catch these type of fish consistently. The use of a portable fishfinder, continous rowing, baitfeeder reels, etc all helped. Some of these reservoirs are over 2,000 acres and over 140 feet deep and like I said, only accessible via row boat.
  14. I shot a porcupine in PA with my crossbow!
  15. BizCT

    Got busted

speaking of DEC, whats the rule if you shoot a deer on private property and it runs onto DEC land that is posted as fishing/hiking only, not hunting?
  16. I never post anything fishing related here, I am an active member on Westchesterfishing.com, but here's a few from this year so far. All fish were caught on Kensico Reservoir or Lake Gilead. Both NYC water reservoirs, no motors allowed, etc. My little cousin with the Brown Trout, my Dad with the big Lake Trout. Me with a laker and some bass. 4 Videos here > http://www.youtube.c...g?feature=watch
  17. Looking to lease land in Putnam County or surrounding counties (not westchester). Only looking to hunt deer season with shotgun. No tree stands will be put up. Basically, my Dad and I are willing to pay to be able to hunt private property in Putnam County or any other county close by. We lost our access to private 8 acres we have hunted since 1993 and trying to avoid state land at all costs. Thanks.
  18. They have stupid bigfoot show.....next up should be "Mt. Lion Hunters in NY" A team of people go around NYS looking for mt. lions. They will ask people what they saw, they will hear sounds in the night that, of course, could only be lions. The show would be a big hit! and of course nobody will actually ever see one!!
  19. Well said and I agree. The guide I was with told me about this one lion that had a weird or broken toe, so its track was very unique. Anyway he found this lion track 60 miles apart within 2 days one time!
  20. No clue what this even means, but sounds like as long as you work for a solid large company, I don't think anything will change. Is this a big deal or something?
