  1. I got 2 in 3N, not that ever use them....but just incase I saw an albino doe or something cool.
  2. I really have no idea. If you said $100K it wouldn't surprise me. If you said you did most of the work yourself and it cost $15K, it wouldn't surprise me. Nontheless, looks good and more importantly added value to your home.
  3. Nice, how much that cost you approx? $100K?
  4. I cock my 200lb Xbow with the rope, they say it makes it 1/2 the weight, so 100lb. I cock it before I walk into the woods in the dark. Once I get to my spot, I sit down, and load an arrow (bolt). I feel very comfortable shooting at a deer up to 40 yards. Don't think I would take a shot at one past that. I am sighted in dead-on at 25 yards. Anything under 25 yards I aim a little lower. At 40 yards I am only 4-5" low. I know the NYS crossbow rules say you shouldn't walk with a bolt loaded, but that is meraly a suggestion. I still hunt for deer with my crossbow just like I do with my shotgun.
  5. Yup, and vice-versa....I get tempted to move upstate, but then I wouldn't be able to afford to go on 5 hunting trips this year where I need to fly.
  6. I wish I could live in Dutchess, hell of a lot cheaper than Westchester and even Putnam. Just too far from NYC (work).
  7. I own a 900sq. foot 1BR co-op in Westchester County that I paid $200K for. My taxes are just under $4K a year. The condo's across the street are $350-$600K for 1-2BR, with taxes around $9K.
  8. Try $15-$25K in taxes for 1/4 acre in Westchester or Putnam County. Even $7-10K in taxes for condo.
  9. To each their own. I am very happy with my Excalibur. Like I said, "If you bust a string on a hunting trip, you just put a new one on yourself. If you bust a string on a compound crossbow, you need to get to a bow press/bow shop."
  10. Yes, you are correct. This house is right next to Penora's Pizza. My relatives who owned the house actually owned a feed store for many many years before selling the property to Penora Pizza. Who wants the house for $60K?
  11. Some daylight pics attached.
  12. http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/4270-trips-booked/page__hl__%2Btrips+%2Bbooked Page 1 has the details of my hunt with an outfitter.
  13. Where in PA do you live and do you have access to decent hunting? maybe we work out a deal? I apply for 7M and if I get it I'll sign it over to you in exchange for a saturday of hunting on your property in PA with my crossbow. Let me know!
  14. Thanks for reminder. I just emailed them regarding an address change. Then I will apply for 2 3N permits, although I never use them lol.
  15. I never have. I said "For $595, I went to PA for a week, lodging and food included on a fair-chase deer hunt."
  16. Now $65,900 > http://mjpetersonrealestateinc-793398.lps.preferredbrokersite.com/commercial-for-sale/NY/Lancaster/14043/302-Penora-72395893
  17. My Excalibur Vortex is 6.3lbs, shoots 330fps. If you bust a string on a hunting trip, you just put a new one on yourself. If you bust a string on a compound crossbow, you need to get to a bow press/bow shop.
  18. Hope you didn't shoot those furbearers in NY with a crossbow. That would be illegal.
  19. All of PA has AR's, some areas are 3 to a side, others are 4 to a side. I saw several illegal bucks (spikes, 3's, 4's) within 30 yards.
  20. 190 to 170. 18 points to _____? Nevermind. No longer interested.
  21. click "more reply options" click "browse" choose the pic click "attach this file" click "add reply"
  22. Public land, but without the guide's help, you'd have no clue where to go. Basically, he does all the scouting for you. I hunted 4 1/2 days and saw 28 does and 8 bucks. The full story is here > http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/4270-trips-booked/
  23. 300,000 acres of STATE LAND. Here's the link to his camp > http://www.littlegeneraloutfitters.com/Home_Page.html
  24. I thought they were nice bucks.....guess not?
