Looks like Sportlover.com is a fan of the Muck Boot brand. I never have had much luck with Muck Boots, I am now trying the DryShod brand slip on boot. Similar look to the Muck, but at a more value minded price. Priced at $108 . Same original owner of the Muck boot; started a new brand,

DEC Proposes Potential Future "Holiday" Deer Hunt

Finally, a late season Bow, Muzzleloader hunt option. Hope it goes through! -
Bow only season, I like to display orange on the walk in and out times. Never know who might be out there waiting to release an arrow, legally or not. All it takes is once.

You call that a knife.....
landtracdeerhunter replied to Robhuntandfish's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
I been using a Sabre, maybe 4 1/2 inch folder for quite a long time. It's an inexpensive knife that holds an edge really well. I;ve ground the tip off of so I don't get poked. I have never lost it but, would not feel near as bad as a more expensive one, if I were to. In combination with my Buttout 2 combo; which works really good, I can get the deer aimming towards the sky rather quickly. -
A six inch value minded hold saw is tough to find; been drilling mine 6.250.

How often do you check your Trail Cams?
landtracdeerhunter replied to Northcountryman's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
Few weeks in, a few weeks out; give or take a few weeks. -
They sure are fun to build and decorate. They even sell fancy color changing lights for'em. Go Bills!

Would be great for backhoe application. Technically, a front end loader is not design to use for hard digging application , no matter who the manufacture is.

Great Post! Really enjoying the deer - tractor photos. To me, a 4 wheeler is a design failure waiting to happen, given really hard use.

Watched 2 hens and 18 poults cross the road in front of me in the town of Lockport last. I'd say a dang good hatch. It was just like Christmas for me.

USPS is getting to be about useless

Haven't had an issue with USPS., and I use them quite often. Faster, more accurate shipping using Priority Mail verses First Class. -
4x8 Chicken coop build
landtracdeerhunter replied to BuckNutts's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
Nice build. The outer egg check will come in handy for quick checks. Any plans for an outdoor yard area? -
Turkeys like to scratch. Could be an invitation to come on inn.
-
The turkeys use to come in to dust themselves in the same field area every year. I t was fun to watch and film. They would be kicking the dirt out; dust would be flying in the air. Having a good old time. Now I can only wish for turkeys eating my seed. Very few here.

Radish Planting - Late
landtracdeerhunter replied to landtracdeerhunter's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I'll mix red clover with other grass seeds which are slightly smaller, when frost seeeding early Spring. The combination works well and I get a nice even mixture throughout the field. I'd like to add a three acre field, of wheat in a few weeks, frost seeding red clover mixture in the Spring. -
Radish Planting - Late
landtracdeerhunter replied to landtracdeerhunter's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I find a lot of blends that are full of filler seed the deer don't care for, so I'm a " blend your own guy." Hope these are different. Let us know how they made out. -

Uplifting to see deer during Muzzle. It like a whole new start to the season. Food sources are proven to work. -

Radish Planting - Late
landtracdeerhunter replied to landtracdeerhunter's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I have a fair amount of hay acreage that will start shutting down after the first killing frost. Deer will eat the legumes off, some grasses and weeds, then seek other sources for protien and carbs. Sittting on several hundred acres of corn and beans, I needed to find a formula thats simple to implement and works with other crops established in the area. My radish plantings along with an occasional oat planting, and wheat in the Fall do this. This combination works .It's simple to establish, cost effective, and rewarding. It covers early bow right into firearm season for big game. The wheat along with a fresh frost seeding of Red Clover supplies wildlife right into the following Spring - Summer. -
Radish Planting - Late
landtracdeerhunter replied to landtracdeerhunter's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Sorry to hear that. Hope all works out , gets back to near normal. I used your method few years ago on some first cutting that got seedy on me. Rolled it down flat and planted radish on it. Radish did well. Works out well with future rains. Liked the idea of little to no fuel invested, quick to plant. -
You posted a lot that made good sense to me. No reason to leave HuntingNY.com for voicing your opinion. and being called out on it. We have lost some dam good members for the same reasons. Perfectly alright to voice opinionsb but be ready to be called out on them.
