  1. Hope they hurry up for you be nice to get well before season, I'm sure it takes a bit of getting use to a new arm no matter how its fitted...
  2. I'm really not good in crowds, but would be willing to do small group/ individual visit.
  3. I would tell you to go with a brassica/ clover blend, though it may take them a year to figure out what brassica is. It is a powerful draw. But not for 1st year plot when you want to see instants success If it was spring I would broad cast corn ,though way to late this year. As a 1st year plot buckwheat only need 8 weeks to mature, but would not be the late draw you want.though early season for deer and Turkey it cant be beat, a good winter rye/wheat would be very effective laste season and be bonus patch in spring for Turkey, could then plow under and plant brassica for following fall..
  4. I have had same problem along neighbors line the deer bed just off the field in his woods and I spook them walking in many times ,I am.trying a screening planting of sorghum and Egyptian wheat to allow access to stands along that edge about 8 to 10 ft wide.. it's just all sprouted so I am anxiously watching it grow.
  5. Properly managed small.acerages can be mini hot spots. Though I have found cover to be most important. Even if deer feed off your property if they have good safe bedding cover they will return and stay no matter how far away they feed
  6. Both plots plowed up separated by corn. and a good neighbor got all 3 plots disked all ready to plant this weekend!!this one will be turnip. this one will be sugar beets and this one will be winterpeas
  7. One time I made one from a piece of flint, another time I shot a spent shell casing to make sharp.edge. usually I just go back to house and get one along with tractor
  8. I don't carry anything, most of the time i dont even carry a knife in woods hunting.
  9. I have no survival pack..dont go anywhere I'd need one...
  10. A cause its.prolly.bedding area I could.slip into via creek, k cause its ease of access. Honestly the spots I would.pick are not on map.and then I would.confirm by ground search.
  11. If you have one bass you have more no doubt.. If you still worried about run off just make a swale to bypass pond . I cant see much silt accumulating off a driveway once its been Established... Found this old guide for stocking rates..its oer acre so you need to know size of yours and do some math.. if going completely new please stock fat yeads and crayfish a few months before introducing fish.. if you put fish in 1st all you do is feed them , instead of letting them get established
  12. It's a 58 ft span to cross.. its 1/2 cable anchored to 1 in rebar set in 12 bags of concrete. Then 3/4 in marine plywood strips are attached to cable about every 10 in on center and are 2.5 in windex 24 in Using cable clamps/ u bolts. Then 5/4 decking layed lengthwise over plywood steps. We were trying to find an empty trailer or.container but they were not long enough most were 60.ft and would of required a lot of bank stabilization. The cables are pinned 90 ft apart. And have a 3rd anchor pin cabled to the two that hold bridge. Ten ft behind those pins it's all sand fill/ stream.sediment so it's not very stable thus the 3rd anchor Its walkable but Ifyou beefed it up and added 3rd cable you could prolly make it hold an ATV. We have a road about 75 ft from end of bridge so we just drive vehicle around to it. And walk in. Though we can drive 1.5.miles thru woods on atv..its a lot easier to drive around cross bridge and hunt. At 18 in wide we have drug deer across it and if creek is low enough you can drag across but the current is very.fast when it rains at.all and it gets very deep over the center of bridge at times. So we stretched it tighter and raised sag another 2 ft..
  13. Had help both days, and red brought tool for stretching cables made it fast and easy
  14. Had some help this weekend , so got.bridge cables tightened, moved boxblind base, cleared a meadow.of fallen and junk trees to make into food plot again, got a couple of stands up,trimmed back limbs off trails,. And saved.myself from flipping.tractor after sliding off roadway in woods. Still so.much more to do....sigh
  15. 850 for shoulder with open mouth,2500 for full, is what I paid for mine, rug was 750.
  16. Yes pretty much , the combo of sealant and hydraulic cement shouls.make 100% water proof, just make sure you clean top of tank very well before attaching, I'd even go as much as using muriatic acid to wash off top before setting.. your water isnt something to skimp on
  17. Silt will fill it in, esp if pond is off creek, my ponds are almost.all runoff. And fish do fine but its not a constant muddy stream settling out in it.
  18. I'll do with radish or turnip. They will out grow the clover if you mow it 1st.
  19. It's not about the ride, or speed but how you look getting there!! I'm just old.fashioned cjs for me.. leaf springs and shocks.. kids can just bounce along in the rear.. bonus is if old enough no seat belts so they can really get airborne!! Lol
  20. Time to start working up ground for winterpeas, turnips, sugarbeets, winter rye.. was able to sneak out of work and got 2 acres plowed ,one for turnip and one for winterpeas. I have about a half.acre piece that was to wet to plant corn and that will be disked again for sugar beets.. Also sprayed corn and grasses in orchard so I can level and smooth ground and get planted into clover/ oats later this summer.. I dont plant till mid July but its not.raining so..ground prep is a good thing to do it also allows ample.time.to disk/ harrow and wait as new seed sprout and then disk / harrow again before planting target crop. This cuts down on amount of spray needed to keep weed free.. Anyone else in fall/ winter plot prep mode?
  21. Idk jeeps are supposed to be 2 door.. never cared for.4 door look
  22. I would place with aquarium.safe sealant , then on out side use hydraulic cement to bond it to existing concrete and build it up on top of flange making a slope against side of riser.
  23. Those are small ponds, fatheads do great if they have rock to go under and lay eggs, I do not like bass in ponds as they reproduce very quickly and will stunt themselves. , general guideline is a half acre pond with average depth of 6 ft can support 200 lbs of fish, whether its 200 1lb fish or 1 200 lb fish.. I dont think. Your Pond was fished out, what probably happened is , ice formed, got warm fish go on top of.old.ice in new warm.runoff a d then pond freezes again. The trapped.fish die and in spring they sink or are scavanged quickly. Very common in ponds with runoff. My question is if you can build another pond above existing why not.just raise dike and enlarge pond.. run off is not a bad thing as it can bring in nutrients and prey for larger fish. In a small pond like those if spring fed trout can be raised and added as needed., perch, or crappie would do well in larger pond esp with run off, and I would add a few dozen pond crayfish
