Well not including my labor ( I can't tell you how many hours I worked on it and it sat for months with nothing done) I have about 15k in parts and paint.. that includes body prep tools as I had none and bought a lot to enter into my lifetime tool supply..

I didn't do much to the motor as it started after sitting for 24 years (try thay with a modem vehicle) just changed the oil replaced cracked wired and replaced plugs and rebuilt carb Everything else was restored, had 21 leafs prongs in it so I took out 11, it still rates as a 1 ton. Had a lot of metal fab including the entire bed(found a guy in pa with original plans) brakes, were complete rebuilt (drums all around) ,fender tail had to be fabricated as well as,floors ,cab corners ,rocker panels and braces, windshield frames.. a lot of dents and dings as it was used by former owner as a wood truck. Even had dents in the roof! It should of really went to the scrap yards but it ran and I didn't have heart to take a running vehicle to the junk yard especially a rare vehicle like a pick up. It feels so good to be almost done with it .. hoping for memorial day parade unveiling.

If no season how do I get my fine? I can see paying it to get new licence. . Or do we have to create a new organization to collect fines ? -
Cb caps in a .22 work wonders.. if your not there rat traps as stated above

I agree doc, no reason For more laws that are only feel good. Personal choice is what is missing from to many things these days.

I have heard that many times, fact is when we had monday opener, there were more hunters all week as people took vacation, to hunt.. now. They don't use vacation and only hunt weekends, just my direct observations of the local hunters and the guys i hunt with..

As the article shows ar's do not produce bigger bucks as ny and pa are just about dead even every year in entries...my point is they are not nessary for what most hunter feel they will do which is create bigger bucks...the article shows they arent. The only way to grow bigger buck thay hunters that support ar seem to want would be to change season structure . That's all I said . I support neither and as I said on other thread I am quite content with deer management in nys..my only cage would be moving the opening back to a monday, to bring back camp comroderie, and economic boost to small towns and rural areas..

A soft cluck or two then nothing till fly down time. A wing flap( the last part of Turkey Wing works well 7 primary feathers (chest slapping) ,then a pause and a scratch in the leaves.. but do in a rythem of scratch,scratch,.... scratch.. or 1,2 .... 3. Wait and see what they do if you hear a hen just imitate her and step (call) on top of her to get her mad, she can bring in the whole group..

Does anyone have a clue of what this is???

They are a hard tree and will throw sparks off a chainsaw, great burning wood for heat. They are a tree of compressed soil, usually found in old pastures. Have a winged seed like an elm also known as hop hornbeam. I've been removing mine for a few years now as no one cuts them at they just compete with my good hardwood time regrowth. -
Ar's are meant to make animal older which makes more inches of antler.. managing a herd for mature deer is different. Antlers don't matter it's age. I agree ar's are not the answer as this article clearly shows, pa and ny are still about the same, regardless of Pennsylvania using a form of statewide ar for 14 years. So using this why have ar's at all?
-
I was really just comparing ny and pa, similar seasons, hunter numbers, and habitat, main difference is ars.. and it doesn't seem to make much of a difference according to the article .....
-
I agree no guns in rut and shorter seasons would be the big difference, pretty much true for ohio, iowa, kansas, ect split season seem to be much better.

Lake erie is a dangerous lake, I would stay in the harbors unless you bought a sea kayak. . One guy fishing in a canoe was blown across the lake to canada and it took him 3 months to walk back to silver creek to find his belonging s sold as he was assumed dead.. granted it was 18 40s but storms on the lake can be deadly..
-
Yes buy if you believe all the ar propaganda, bug bucks running everywhere is the feeling they try to tell.you will happen ,yet in rankings a non ar state is comparable to the ar state.. with in a deer or two entered in the books.. I would think you would never see ny in the top 25 anytime the way people push them, and pa is only the same with mandatory ar.. so all I can say is I'm glad nys hasn't gone to statewide ar's as it doesn't seem to be nessary as far as book bucks go..

That depends if you have the land to move on, I usually move and did today at 7 am after sitting from 530 to 7 in a roost area.. after the birds leave I try and go to where they will show later.. fields if sun comes out after hard rain, a feeding area (lots of recent scratchings) they will come back to area after hens have left them if the heard your calling.. but that's a lot of wait and sit hunting.. it's a fine method, but I have always been more of a run and gun person..
-
A few first light gobbles but tom flew down with hens and they wanted nothing to do with me.. had 5 jakes come in silent at 730.. 4 left..

It's a ironwood tree leaking sap bacteria turns it orange, I cut down a bunch in late winter and the woods looked like a field of orange hunters as the sap flowed all over the stumps that were up about 1 to 2 ft due to snow depth.. was strange lasted a few weeks in the spring and was gone. -
You would still need someone to check the syphon to make sure it's still working.. and a 1 in or 1.5 in water line black pipe is about all you could prolly get to syphon easily.. would take days if it didn't plug with mud ,leaves, ect..
