I usally hunt public land and for anyone who hunts public land knows you can never truly be ready . You can know a good spot walk in and find another hunter there happens to me all the time . It's both bad and good because it makes it more challenging at least that's the way I look at it .

I think if your fighting in a city or thick jungle brush or going in and out of buildings clearing rooms a light carbine like the m1 would be just as good or better then the 30-06 Garand. All depends on where and when the enemy happens to show up really . Being shot is being shot .

Maybe it is more like a gun but the goal of DEC is to control deer populations not necessarily decide on what weapon is the most sporting to use . I find crossbows to be cumbersome and awkward to carry walking around the woods compared to a compound bow .

Dont care always like that gun even with its faults it was designed to be light and portable and something with better performance then just carrying a handgun .
