  1. I can't imagine why any "hunters" would be against Dove hunting. I don't do it myself but in the Midwest it is very popular even in states that only recently lifted the ban.
  2. Yeah old Ronnie was slick. He had Ollie North to take the fall for the Iran-Contra CIA cocaine smuggling scandal & H W Bush was there as the patsy when the VooDoo economics collapsed. He kept the scheme going just enough to get out of Dodge before the chickens came home roost. He was the worlds greatest bullshit artist. Even had me fooled for a while. Clinton had to clean up that mess.
  3. Well after the 2010 elections, Democrats no longer held the house & the GOP minority in the senate held 420 cloture motions since 2010 meaning 29% of all cloture motions in history have been held in the last 6 years. It hardly seems that the Democrats "impotence" is entirely their doing. But let's just take your theory that it is all Obama & his part's fault. That brings us to point #5 Employment (58.1% of population working): Lowest since 1983 (Reagan administration) Since we can't blame the current President and his party's predecessors poor leagacy for economic performance, then, buy your own words & data, the dismal economy I lived through during the Reagan error was all the Republican's fault. You mat now resume your mutual self gratification.
  4. Point #3. "W" Bush was responsible for ramping up the spending during relatively good economic conditions before his recession. You figures over simplify the situation. "Having said that, it is impossible to look at the chart and not to see a large ramp up in outlays under George W. Bush — the president who reversed the direction of federal outlays, which had been falling. Indeed, it is perfectly reasonable to argue that much of the responsibility for 2009’s 25.2 percent rests with President Bush, and not with President Obama; in January 2009, before President Obama took office, the CBO released its forecast that fiscal year 2009 would see outlays of 24.9 percent of GDP based on pre-Obama policies" .http://www.forbes.com/sites/realspin/2012/09/03/yep-obamas-a-big-spender-just-like-his-predecessors/
  5. Point #2 How much of that spending is form debt uncured during the Bush wars that were put on the credit card? How much for the debt of bailing out of the Bush recession? Sounds like the GOP deserves a lot of credit for that one too.
  6. Point #1, the GOP temper tantrum shut downs deserve credit for this one. http://www.forbes.com/sites/afontevecchia/2013/09/30/shutdown-and-debt-ceiling-debate-prove-u-s-doesnt-deserve-aaa-credit-rating-sp/
  7. The point is, the phrase was spoken in the 1st person. I'm not sure ants realized that.
  8. Ice that is dry @ -10° isn't slippery as wet ice @ 34°
  9. I save charcoal ashes from my grill. Works the same as wood asshes.
  10. I don't know about region 8, but this fluffy powder snow would seem to be a lot less stressful for the deer here in 6 than the hard frozen stuff we had last year from Christmas on.
  11. Are you speaking metaphorically ants or do you really have stomach cramps? A better question might be; Do you even know what NO MAS means?
  12. Make sure you priming charge doesn't cover the touch hole. That's what causes ignition lag. A flash will go through the clear touch hole & ignite the main charge a lot faster than it can burn through powder clogging the hole. S Indiana is the Mecca of muzzle-loading. One can find a shoot every weekend somewhere during spring, summer & early fall. They shoot for meat, powder, etc. No trophies or ribbons. There, the stoners compete W/the cap guns in the same matches. More often than not, the disciplined stoner shooters win. I never could hang in to place until I build my brother a flintlock for hunting in PA. A flintlock teaches you to have follow-through discipline & it improves your shooting Where are you getting real black powder?
  13. I'm building my own to hand down to my son. He already has an order in for a Classic Oberndorf Mauser like the 8X57 I built. I already have a Black walnut semi inletted stock, VZ500 98 action & a blank E R Shaw .264 barrel for it. He said he'll pay for the rest of the components & the farmed out work on the barrel. I'm on the fence on whether to use the .264 barrel for a 6.5 X 55 or get another barrel to do it in 7 X 57. These are PIX of the actual stock from the vendor's website. It has somewhat botched inletting, but I can deal W/it for the price I paid for it.
  14. I've been lusting after a mint Swedish Mauser take-off barrel to screw into my small ring, small shank 1934 Mexican Mauser 98 action. I like making high quality/accurate custom rifles W/military barrels. I've heard that the accuracy of the 6.5 X 55 Swedish Mausers can be legendary. Unfortunately, all I can find are the 19" versions. That's way too short to even consider. I want to create something along the lines of this, but W/O sights.. Look closely @ the picture below & you will find that it is indeed a Mexican Swede. That is, a Mexican Mauser action W/a turned, cut & crowned Swedish Mauser military barrel.
  15. I found a book on "Dirty Little Limericks" in of all places, the public library of Columbus, IN They were classified by subject matter. "Religion" & "Disease" were some of the better subjects. There was a young man from Beirut That was troubled by warts on his root He put acid on these And now when he pees He fingers his root like a flute
  16. From the content of some of the initial posts, it appears we may have some of his descendants participating on this thread.
  17. I tried that. I have too much sand in the soil. I started getting small sink holes & had to do gutters before I ended up W/foundation issues.
  18. Damn, ever get a song lyric stuck in your head? Busted, down on Bourbon Street, set up, like a bowlin' pin. Knocked down, it get's to wearin' thin. They just won't let you be, oh no.
  19. Uh-oh, that's going to rile up the "conservatives"! 1st you show a picture of a liberal rifle & now you come out of the closet? You're a brave soul my friend!
  20. lol! Must have made quite an impression on your young fertile mind that you still remember it 50 years later.
  21. OMG a "liberal" rifle. Is that for catch & release hunting?
