Deer Check Stations

Is there a map or list of deer check stations? Maybe I'll get my first deer this year. Should probably know where I should take my tag to get it validated.

All you have to do is call your tag in and report it or do it on the internet. Check stations are not mandatory.

Thanks. I'll just call in. For some reason I thought you have to at least bring something in to prove the sex of the deer. Antlerless, etc.

Actually, I prefer to report via internet. There is no hassle of dealing with voice recognition, and when you are all done, you can print out exactly what was reported. You can always review items on your report before pushing the send button. Also, even though it is unlikely, If someone tries to come back and claim that I didn't report or reported fraudulently, I have a hardcopy print-out to show exactly what was reported and how. I love the system!

depends if you shoot a deer on LI (rocky point or otis pike) and want another doe permit you have to bring in the head

Yea I would just call it in Elmo, especially if it's bow season i'm assuming it willl be warm out and the feild dressing process needs to be done quickly.

Yes, when transporting a deer it has to be tagged & proof of sex evident.
