First time for a trail cam...

I got a cam for x-mas and finally put it out in the woods.  Didn't see a whole lot, but did get a few pics of this doe.  I think she might have seen the red flash before the pic is taken...

Hard to see, but maybe the cam is a little high and it might not be getting the ones walking under it.

He did better than me, I checked mine this weekend and didn't have squat on it.  My buddy informed that I had it too high.  So I moved it to some apple trees and set it slightly lower than hip height.  Rookie mistake!

I've had good luck with mine at 38-40" off the ground.

I know nothing about trail cameras, but I know that with personal cameras if you take a photo (without zooming in) you are able to get more definition while editing. Can you set up your camera afield  in a way that allows you to zoom in to achieve higher definition while editing?

The pics are better on  my laptop than in the posts.  I think it has to do with the size.  I did put it high, but that was because of necessity.  Lower, and the weeds are too high to see the deer... lol.. I'm trying to convince my brother in law to mow this particular right of way.  The good news, I did find a new spot to put the camera where it can be lower.  I'll move it this week and see what comes up then...
