Just Couldn't Bring Myself To Draw On Her

Well, finally tried bowhunting back here (neighbors couldn't care less). Had a doe come barreling in-thought a buck was chasing. That was not the case. The doe offered a nice broadside at 25 yards. Then, I saw what was following-a fawn so young, it wasn't funny. Decided to let the doe walk. I just couldn't bring myself to take the doe, with such a young fawn in tow. Has anyone else run into these dilemmas?

What's the likelihood of it surviving even with the mother if it is that small at this point and weather changing? I'd take the shot. Mama is about to hook up with some horny buck and leave little one alone anyway...a couple of Yotes ae lining up at the buffet table already.

You make a very valid point. These two come through here literally every day. In my younger days, I wouldn't have even thought twice about it. Today, though, for some reason, it nags at me. Baffles the mind!
