tony m
There will be folks attending to represent the natural right of man to defend themselves. I may be heading up to do some interviews. 1st impressions matter, it is suggested to wear conservative attire. https://www.facebook.com/events/106010646240086/106502109524273/?comment_id=106508096190341¬if_t=event_mall_comment http://www.meetup.com/Ithaca-Liberty/
Daveboone
I dont understand ... It is an individuals right to dispose of firearms as well as own them (legally), and myself, I think a buyback is an excellent tool for minimizing firearms in househols that most likely arent suitable for them to start with. blackradio
yeah, seriously. get a life. Why does it bother you if I want to give up my guns?
SteveB
Spending taxpayer money for feel good actions that will have no effect on crime. What's not to like? Good luck with the interviews and give us a report.
nyantler
I have 2 old rusty long guns that I aquired years ago that I wouldn't even shoot.. it might be a good way to get rid of them and get some cash.. that's really how most of these buybacks go anyway... very few people giving up any good guns.. just old stuff that someone will pay them to get rid of. It will make all the lefty's feel good, but will do nothing but cost the taxpayers money.

nyantler
Baseless Comment. Do some research and see how baseless it is... I think your baseless comment post is baseless. In fact many of the people that turn in guns still have guns at home which equates to just getting rid of some old guns without the hassle. Not to mention it's a no questions asked policy so criminals bring their guns for cash to use for a new gun purchase. Are you that niave that you think this actually has an impact on crime?? Like I said do some research... and educate that liberal mind of yours. http://articles.latimes.com/2012/dec/26/local/la-me-1227-gun-buyback-20121227 Edited December 31, 2012 by nyantler

Why does it bother you if I want to give up my guns? It's not about people giving up their guns. Two government officials brought this idea forward as a response to the latest tragedy. The police and elected county sheriff are sponsoring. The media will be there, and the slant will most likely be not good for those who understand what the 2nd amendment maintains. Another voice should be present to at least try and get a fair unbiased report. It's either complain to each other or form rapports with the event organizers, attendees, and the media to achieve gaining some professional points. This is the way it works. Probably someday, those that did nothing now, will remembers those that did, later. At least it can't be said that we didn't try to do something.

That little snippet you attached does not specifically identify all the types of weapons turned in, nor their condition or value, so stop backtracking. Think before you post! The fact that these weapons were turned in rubs you the wrong the way.You must believe that such actions are Unamerican (sic). Perhaps you hit the nail on the head, criminals will turn in their guns for cash in order to purchase new guns. You may want to reflect upon that comment! See... there you go putting owrds in my mouth .. I never said turning in weapons rubs me the wrong way... you said that.. I said exactly what I wrote in the post. You said my post was baseless.. I proved you wrong and in fact what I said was true... therefore not baseless... stay on topic here... if you remember I also said to do some research for yourself... but in true liberal form you refuse to do anything that might prove you wrong... so carry on... don't you liberals get kind of dizzy with all the spinning you do? You love creating your own realities that just don't exist.
joe12
what you should do is trade in a bunch of junk rifles that you don't use anymore, and use the $ to buy a new AR-15.
