Suilleabhain
Anyone hear about DEC asking for land access so they can survey the turkey population and determine why it is falling? Wanted to see what the particulars are. Last time DEC asked us about doing a deer assessment and forestry review they wanted in return to open the land to the public for 5 years. landtracdeerhunter
DEC has launched a Wild Turkey Survival Study. Looking for landowners in Regions 3-9 to cooperate in trapping, fitting with radio collars and releasing. The emphasis is on hen survival. landtracdeerhunter
This has been done since 2009. Radio collars are replacing banding. Anyone ever harvest one with a radio collar?
