tony m
Journalist Accosted By Security Over Mayor Bloomberg Gun Control Question by WYNTON HALL 28 Jan 2013, 9:01 AM PDT In an explosive exchange outside the U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting in Washington, D.C., security guards for billionaire New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg accosted senior Talk Radio Network investigative reporter Jason Mattera when he asked the mayor about his strong support for gun control. In the video, Bloomberg is seen surrounded by security. Mattera approaches Bloomberg and asks, “In the spirit of gun control, will you disarm your entire security team?” Bloomberg’s reply: “Uh, you, we’ll get right back to you.” “Why can you defend yourself but not the majority of Americans?” Mattera asks as the mayor walks away. “Look at the team of security you’ve got. And you’re an advocate for gun control?” The video then cuts to Mattera walking further down the street when one of the men guarding Bloomberg, identified as Officer Stockton NYPD, stops Mattera and asks to see his photo ID. joe12
This was great. He also asked him if he wanted a sip of his soda- classic
Geno C
not saying that was the greatest way to handle that. it would be nice to see second amendment supporters handle themselves in a better light, especially if the footage would be exposed to america.... BUT its sad to see people like bloomeurg take trying to away our protection while being heavily secure by armed guards. they should be on the same playing field as us... 13BVET
Actually, I think Jason Mattera did it the right way-hit them right on the spot. Amazing how dumbfounded they seem to be when you do that. Love it!

Love it!they don't give a crap about facts.... They will push for what they want regardless if you made 100 facts. However they want that kind of reaction. They want to see us loose control and step out of line. You really won't see these folks pushing their agendas and get all hyped out over it. They want to see us act like a bunch of nuts. Although I agree with you that he nailed it right on the head. I think by keeping composure and being level headed we might get further... Ford
I do not think the NYPD has any jurisdiction to ask anyone on a public street for their ID, in DC. I could very well be wrong if they were deputized wiith some local authority. The physically standing in the way, well thats what any bodyguard would do. As far as the point being made, I get it. The "elite," in this country will always be well protected. Geno, I agree, sometimes the ones "on our side" dont always put us in the most favorable light.
growalot
He could have done that entire thing ...with out "do you want a sip of my soda" really?? I agree...he'd walked away from the vicinity of the vehicle and Bloomberg...he was an off duty NY officer playing body guard he had no business asking for ID in DC..IMO....personally I would have turned and asked for his credentials and kept mine in my pocket.... shawnhu
Very NYPD of the officer to lie through his teeth about having jurisdiction. And to follow the guy and try to intimidate him for asking very valid questions, I'm glad this was caught on tape.

Ford
Yeah, ok. No one, or anything is immune to "flaws." But it is clear you want to bash cops at every opportunity. That is fine. I am not here (on this site) to talk about Law enforcement, cops or anything pertaining to that. When I see a post on that subject that is errornous, I might reply. But I am not going to be baited by you, or your buddy, who do not like LEO's. That is all. YOU carry on.

Geno, I CLEARLY saw the idiot Cuomo push his agenda, and go well beyond hyped up about it-it's right on video! As to whether they would think that we're nuts, or not, is irrelevant. The mere fact that we own guns, in their minds, makes us "nuts". As far as I'm concerned, this guy did it the right way. If we should have learned anything by now, it's that the "appeasement" way has been disastrous for gun owners, as recent history shows. Unless, of course, you like more restrictions on your rights-THEN the pacifistic approach works very well. It's kind of like dealing with a bully-at what point do you realize that the time for talking is over, and that the only way to get the bullying to stop, is to fight back? If you think jumping around trying to breach security to make a point is acceptable then thats your opinion and your entitled to it. But you dont see Obama speaking on TV jumping around acting like a tool, hes smooth at what he says and being calm cool and collect will get the point across rather easily. when you act like a loony and try to make a point NO ONE will listen to you. the video shows comic relief with truth behind it. however like i stated i believe the more we act civil and try to convey our story the further we will get. and NO i do not like any restrictions on my rights nor my guns... but if you see me throwing my hands in the air and acting crazy that would be a lie. i know whats going and i see it so theres no need to tell me what right are in jeopardy, i see it. but if the CEO of the NRA got up in front of people to talk and was jumping around and acting crazy i am pretty sure we would have NO guns as we speak... image is everything people do think we are crazy for having guns. its better we show them that we are civil, respectful individuals who have guns and know our rights. act like a crazy tool and alls that does is proves the antis theory on how crazy they think we are... HectorBuckBuster
All you had to do was watch Cuomo's state of the union speech. I was screaming and fist pounding acting like a loon.
13BVET
can you please post that video so i can see it? Tell me what you call this. This is why the left will always get what they want-because we're always too damned worried about being civil, instead of putting a boot up their a$$. Geno C
he looks like a lunatic in that video... thanks for sharing that, i didnt see that vid. and what i call that is embarrassing, he sounds stupid... what the obsession is with a .223 round, the amount of bullets a gun holds and the bearing it has on deer hunting is plain silly... but unfortunately people believe what he says. i still stand on gun owners holding ourselves in a certain fashion. i think it will be a no holds bard if push came to shove but i dont think we are at that point yet. this is just the start of things. Geno, I actually agree that Cuomo looked like a loon in that vid. And, while I actually don't dispute that we should hold ourselves to higher standards, sometimes you have to play their game in order to win, if that makes sense.
HuntOrBeHunted
What a joke. Nothing more to say. Its just a joke these people are directly breaking the constitution right in front of Americans faces. And some of these half brained people are all for it.. Tisk tisk, it's going to be a hard road ahead.
