Attended SAFE Act Meeting Tonight in LaFayette

I attended the governor's Safe Act Meeting in LaFayette tonight. It was a poor choice of venue as the crowd of guys was about 3 or 4 times larger than could be accomodated by the LaFayette court house. The three representatives of the governor said they could only answer questions about the provisions of the law not the wisdom or philosophy of the law. Everyone was frustrated, but civil to the governor's representatives. The governors representatives said they would carry the message of frustration back to the governor ( for whatever thats worth).

A few guys called into the Bob Lonsberry show (570 WSYR) and said how mobbed it was. Glad to hear it. I don't have much faith in these "Representatives" having much influence over king Cuomo. Sounds like the King sent them out just to patronize the "little people" Hope Im wrong.

These are Cuomo's meetings! What else did you expect? They are intended to dictate the terms of the new law, not to request input from constituents.

You are correct. I know now. My buddy who came with me (and probably most of the other 2 or 3 hunderd guys) and I were hoping there would be a real meeting. My friend came away pretty depressed by it all.

WE need to stand together and make our point starting next November.........our collective votes will count.

Sadly, this came as a wake up call for most gun owners in New York.....the thinking "it will never happen" has changed.

We need to continue a strong, well planned opposition.......
