Mike Bloomberg Gun ad

Recommended Posts

He is the king of control freaks.

I heard reported this morning that part of the proposed back ground check is a requirement that a person proves he is the owner of a gun, before they can sell it to another person. So if you have a shot gun, or any other gun,  that you have owned for years and no longer have a receipt for or if you bought a gun from a private party or were given a gun but never got a receipt. You're screwed

Bloomberg is the the definition of an elitist hypocrite. The guy walks around with no less than 5 armed undercover NYPD officers surrounding him, but then wants major restrictions on the average person's ability to defend themselves. As soon as the secret service and Bloomberg's security force switch over to double barrel shotguns or swiss army knives, I will then entertain their arguements.

Did you notice how this ad went way out of it's way to stress hunting as the primary use for a gun. They definitely want to link gun ownership and use with hunting as the only reason for owning one. That is important in pushing all kinds of future gun laws. Once they get the public accepting that hunting is the only legitimate reason to own guns, there are all kinds of further restrictions that they can put on them.

I also noticed that the 2nd Amendment is never mention in any of these anti-gun ads. They want to divorce the issue from the constitution.

In addition to all of the other valid criticisms of this ad, did you catch the alleged "hunter" in the ad? He is sitting in a pickup truck with a shotgun with a CLOSED ACTION in close vicinity of another adult and 2 children in the yard, with the gun pointed in the direction they are walking towards. ANYONE who knows anything about safe gun handling knows this is NOT SAFE. This gun could be loaded and should not be pointed in that direction. This is what happens when people who know nothing about guns and the safe handling of guns, make commercials with actors and not real hunters who would know better. For the millions of dollars he spent on this ad, he could have at least shown the safe and proper handling of a gun in the ad.

Makes you wonder if they did it on purpose. The antis always portray gun owners as dumb, unsafe numb nuts. Throw a couple kids in the back ground and there you go.
