TeeBugg
Finally decided to put my kodiak magnum back together. Unfortunately through 3 moves and a few years of being in and out of cases....its in need of some good tlc. The breech plug is missing as are the bolts that hold the stock to the barrel. Light rust on the outside but mysteriously the inside of the barrel isnt bad at all. Any tips on where to get parts and what i should do to clean it up? I was thinking i may spray paint it camo and that would take care of the outside appearance....
sits in trees
Screws can be got anywhere, True Value for ex. Call CVA for a new plug, then wipe it down with some oil or paint it like you were saying, the bore is good so just get to the bench and shoot it. After that just always clean it and keep it oiled like any firearm and it should last your kids a lifetime...
TeeBugg
Awesome. I was hoping i could get the screws/bolts somewhere. The plug i actually just found on a few websites. Forgot that it had a scope on it but i removed it for a 22 i had. Now it has mounts but no scope or sights haha! I think someone pilfered it while it was in storage! Sights dont seem that hard to find or i may throw another scope on it. I was actually looking at red dots....but dont see too many red dots on smokepoles. WNYBuckHunter
Instead of painting, look into Ceracote, youll have a nice, worry free finish. Many local gun shops out there have places they send stuff to that do it. Its not all that much either.
landtracdeerhunter
I got a breech plug and mounting screws for my CVA from Buds Gun Shop online. Ran around $11 plus shipping. They have a kit for the screws with was a couple dollars. They also have some nice options available.

landtracdeerhunter
I believe that gun was manufactured in Spain which means the screw is metric. Might be a little more difficult finding.
jjb4900
did you try emailing CVA? I've had pretty good luck with some companies sending small stuff like that free of charge.
