Bought some new decoys - Zink Avian Jake & Hen

I bought a pair of new decoys last night. I pulled the trigger on a  Avian X LCD Jake & Breeding hen. These decoys look amazing. Hope to have some good results in s few days.

I was like do I really want to spend $180 for a pair of decoys, After seeing them I just had to have them. May add another hen or a strutting tom later, but he is $120 bucks.

I bought a DSD ripoff, the Dakota Extreme jake...I love the posturing of it.

 

Decoys are real expensive...check out the DSD buck decoy...I'd cry if a 2.5y/o blew it up.

DSD? They blow away a Dakota or Zink...not even in the ball park.

I love my Zink LCD hen, especially since I bought in on sale from Cabelas for $40!!!

the DSD buck decoy is the awesome....

 

I haven't put my hands on there turkey decoy yet, however I have owned 40 or 50 decoys and out them the zinc is the best colored I own,

 

I'm just not a fan of the weight, makes it hard to run and gun, I use them when in open fields, I still keep a couple cheap Flambeau in my vest for hunting the mountain

Oh yeah, the weight does suck...I use a pillow case to keep them safe, lol.

 

Nothing beats a cheap ol foamy that folds nicely for run and gun.

I have noticed that turkeys seem to have wised up compared to 20 years ago. The stuff and trick and cheap decoys seem to work 20 years ago, don't seem to work as much as they used to. I think with more turkey hunters out messing and calling birds all the time. Has really wised the birds up.
