Ruger Red label 28 ga ?

My boss has a very nice 28 gage he is going to sell

I don’t see any on GunBroker .. I asked a gun shop and they said 1600

He has about 2 dozen boxes of shells too.

Question is , if I put it on GB I would have to ship it correct ?

They don’t have a local pick up listing that I see

There are several on Guns International. 

Asking price doesnt mean value or selling price.

28ga ammo is stupid expensive right now, I'd buy it as i have a couple 28's, but you'll do better selling as an add on to a gun sale.

Oh I will , but I wanted to get an idea of a good price .

I spoke to a dealer and he said 1600 is a good starting point ?

Try selling it on shotgun world or trap shooters. Obviously both sites would have more traffic looking to buy expensive shotguns.
 

The Rugers although not popular when they were manufactured have a cult following now that they are discontinued.

Does he have the box and original choke tubes? That will bring a lot more than without.

He has the chokes but not the box

There are two on GB right now. One 3k and the othe 3k+.
 

But both are custom. One has a English stock and the other has been engraved.

I spoke to the guy who said he knew the value of these guns and he said only 1,200 bucks for your friends gun.

Sounds cheap to me but IDK. I know a store will give you nothing. I still say shotgunworld.com and trapshooters.com are the best places to get a value.

For a sub gauge gun, that surprises me . 20,28,410 usually command a pretty good premium.

Every gunshop I’ve talked to said 1500 minimum.

I agree Dan.  The link above has some of those 28ga guns for sale.  As you know, these are asking prices; there is no bidding on GI and importantly they are not "sold" prices.

My personal opinion is 1,200 bucks sounds way too cheap for that gun. But to me 3k is too much. I would say the value would be in the 2k range maybe a bit better. 
 

But those are wild ass guesses from me. Put it on GB for 3k and see what happens.
