George & Ralphy (pics)

I hit the roads last night for the first time this summer to scout some of the farms near my house that I have permission on. I came across two "deer" in a small green field on one of our better northern zone farms, but upon further examination through the binos, these were actually two great bucks! I knew they had impressive antler but with the sun fading my binos were letting very little light through and it was tough to see. I went out mid-day today and put a camera up along the corn that bordered the green field I found them in too see exactly what they were up too night and day. Sitting at home this evening around 7, I thought to myself, I bet those deer are using the field on the other side of the hedgerow, its bigger, just as lush, and better protected from human view. So I grabbed my mothers DSLR and hit the road. With a south wind I could glass the field from atop a small knoll and be protected by corn that was split 50/50 with the large greenfield. As I crested the knoll my suspicion proved true, the bucks were already out in the field at 7:30. I told my dad last night jokingly that I would call these bucks George & Ralphy; George being the light color'd velvet 8 pointer, and Ralphy being the dark velvet'd 9/10 pointer. Even with the cameras biggest lens zoomed all the way in, I still had to crop the pics to zoom them in some more so I apologize for the pic quality.

Thanks guys and girls, I figure'd y'all would enjoy some nice bone! Unfortunately the owner of this particular farm believes archery tackle is unethical so I won't be able to go in after these deer for nearly 2.5 months which gives them plenty of time to leave, and quite a few other people hunt/bootleg this property. I'll try my damnedest though!
