Witty
Only 60 days till opening day and still have so much to do. I'm having a mini panic attack here as I think about the stuff I need to get done. Stands need to be checked and put up, still have to decide where they are all going to go. I have only seen one buck I would take and I didn't even see him on property I can hunt. My cams have been sitting for 3 weeks now. Hopefully they will give me a peek at what's roaming around. Anyone else having a freak out?
landtracdeerhunter
The panic button has already been pushed here. Everything went out the window back in May. My To Do list is far to long to even mention. As it pours down rain here, I just hope to buy a license and participate.
meatmuzzy
No need to freak man....This is supposed to be fun! So what if you dont get EVERY stand hung that you wanted, you can still hang some after the season opens. I do it all the time. Just try to relax a bit and have fun...
ncountry
Every year I say to myself that I am going to get some serious hunting time in. Being self employed you would think this would be possible..lol.. hasnt worked out in my favor for the past few years. Even though I don't get the time in I want I am sure I still get more than most. Those fall days in the woods every year keep me sane..

Anyone else having a freak out? Witty - No need for a panic. It will get done. And I wouldn't worry about not seeing many shooter bucks. When the rut is on all bets are off. Bucks travel. Different bucks move in. Every year I have nice bucks on the opposite side of the farm I hunt. Come Mid October - Novemeber, they usually migrate to the complete opposite side of the farm. "It's gunna be alright". Good luck.
Witty
Between one full day off a week, a two year old in potty training and a fiancé that's learning how to shoot a bow my time is very limited. I'm going to have to take some me time real soon to get it done. Oh and a wild mustang I'm training to trail ride, the list keeps growing lol I'm sure once I get at least a few stands in I'll be ok. Jeremy K
Panic takes all the fun out of it , the reality of it is ,the only thing you need is your weapon of choice and to be in the woods , i shot my biggest buck ever just slow walking through the woods , no stands , no plots and no scents . A Sportsman
Yeah but I know how he feels. I'm in a similar situation. Very little free time,2 babies, 2 jobs, etc. 8 weeks goes by fast. There are stands to hang, lanes to clear, woods to scout, gear to maintain/clean, a lot of shooting, etc. Its a lot. You do as much as you can. And as someeone said above, you can and should also do a lot of this stuff after Oct 1.
Fantail
One window at a time. No reason your jazz needs to freak. Anticipation can get to us all.

Witty
Stress has died down a bit. Got stand #3 up yesterday. Finally found a small cluster of oak tress (first ones I've seen on the entire 200 acres) Everyother tree seems to be an apple tree, they are all loaded up. We came across 15 different beds yesterday and while we were putting the stand up we had a doe walk past us at 60 yards away just grazing away. I still can't believe all the apples. phade
Good luck...its getting close. I'm tired of hanging stands all year this year. Easily at 20 new or moved stands this season, not counting blinds or sets made for mobile hunting. Time to glass, relax, and get the mind ready. waterweasle
haa.I haven't seen a few f my stands since last season, the land owne is a bit of a pain in the ass, and we MIGHT be able to go check em out next weekend.....yeah I said might....................ohhh and my bow hasn't seen the light of day since last season either, I'll shoot this weekend, then sit in the woods, watching deer wander around, probably never taking the bow off the hook
