sampotter
Looks like typical shedding to me. All the bucks in my pics from last August look like that too. These pics were taken in Putnam County > http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/11317-3n-bucks-how-many-fox-doe-fawn-bobcat/ They look 1/2 gray, 1/2 brown. Exactly- look at this ADK buck I just posted: http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/17630-adk-buck/ Just normal shedding.
mac
thanks.. definitely some similarities with the other pics that were posted. I didnt remember it being this early but makes no difference if the result is the same.
Five Seasons
has to be some bugs irritating them. I'd still shoot one. Sometimes the DEC will issue you another tag for shooting a sick or wounded animal... not sure if these would qualify because if it did affect the meat it'd be a shame to be out all that venison. njg0621
Looks like normal shedding to me... these cold nights may have them shedding a little early this year, don't think you have to read into it any more than that.
jjb4900
is it a matter of them shedding the summer coat, or does the winter coat just grow in?
