My View Tonight

I use to drive pass Niagra a lot when I went to school in Detroit.  Most of the time I take I-80 but sometimes I would cut through Canada.  I also spent half a year in Toronto so every time I drove back to NY I would cross it.  I never appreciated it because it was always there.  Most I would do is make a pit stop and look over the ledge.  75% of the time it was at night so I only could see the color lights.  Now that I don't have to cross it anymore, all of a sudden I want to visit it.  Weird, right?  I regret no actually stopping and doing the actual tourist thing.

Nice.

Did you have some killer storms roll through this afternoon?  We had a dandy late today downtown Buffalo.

Plans for the rest of your stay??

Actually once we got into the city of Niagara the skies opened up. Torrential rains for about 10 minutes I-190 into 290 was moving slow and everyone had their hazards on. Then as fast as it came it left. Then the fun started waiting to cross the border into Canada - took an hour to pay toll and go through the check point.

Today we are doing Maid of the Mist, Journey behind Falls, Butterfly Conservatory, Niagara's Fury and eating at the Skylon Tower.

Wow, I you have a full plate!

I'm embarrassed to say I've never been on the Maid Of The Mist......since I got my drivers license in about 1977 I've had a tendency to avoid the falls and tourists. I need to hit that one though.

When I used to visit relatives in that area as a kid, my family always told me they would throw me in there if I kept acting up. Needless to say, I was always on my best behavior when we sent to see the falls.

Too funny. We threatened our kids that they best behave or they're going over without a barrel.
