300 Savage ammo

So I went to Davis on Thursday to buy some ammo, looking for 30-30 and 300 Savage.  Guy tells me the 30-30 rounds were no problem but there were no Savage rounds to be had; when I asked when they might get some in he said that it wouldnt be for months- months??!! What the hell??   Are they THAT far behind in ammo production??

Most companies do certain rounds at the same time of year and rotate. It's a demand issue. As soon as they are on the shelves they are bought then you have to wait for production to start again to be back on the shelf.

Thats a caliber that ammo companies run every few years id imagine.

no co. makes a rifle in that cal. anymore, so ammo is far and few in-between

Dicks in Wilton had a lot of 300 Savage recently, not cheap though.

Never is. Generally is 50 a box

I think the last I saw there was $65 per box. I was able to buy some a while back for $26 box at a gun shop in Illinois and bought all they had, so fortunately I don't need any for a while

You mean in Walton? So, how much , do you remember ??

Wilton, Saratoga area. I think it was like $65 a box.
