Savage Model 10TR in 308

This is the first trip to the range with my new Savage rifle. I mounted a Mueller Tactical APV 4-14x42 scope on Burris XTR low rings. I am shooting Hornady 168 gr BTHP Match ammo out of her. You can see how I walked the groups in to the red dot in the center...

The bigger squares are 1"x1". So, it looks like I have the shots in about a 1/4".

I ran out of the Hornady ammo at that point or I would have tried a few more with that three shot group. I burned through about 30 rounds of ball ammo that grouped about 3" @100 yards prior to shooting the better stuff. When I start reloading for 308 at least I have somewhere to start.

I think most savages are more accurate than the shooter - at least if I am the shooter they are.  lol

Wow nice groups.I have been wanting to get the same exact gun chamber in 223 and 308 and wonder if the 10tr is chambered in both but cant find it on the savage site.

I love Savage rifles. I want one in 338.

Machinist...Good luck finding one. It was never listed on Savage's web site. I was lucky enough to find it through a guy on Facebook.

Nice shooting.  I too have an older Savage 110 in .243 and it is an absolute tack driver!!! Although it is barely enough to take down the dreaded NY whitetail.  LOL
