Canal Fest

Recommended Posts

In the Tonawands. Had a great first time there. Nice amusements for the grand kids.  Got to go down the slide with my grandchild. Wow , hemroid flareup for sure, LOL. All types of foods to sample. A ton of boats on the Erie. Wall to wall people. I got to see my first water main  break, as we were only a few yards away when it blew up through the street on the Tonawanda side.  Coming back on Sweeney st. we were greeted by several deer grazing in the front yards of houses. Some nearly an arms reach away from the car. A lot of deer on the North Tonawanda side.  All in all, some great fun.

My wife and I almost went last night.  A new bottle of gin brought that idea to a screeching halt...................I had a couple stiff G&T's and we decided to go to the local pizza joint instead.  (she drove!)

We go every few years to Canal Fest.  Good local food is the draw for us as rides and stuff don't spin my crank......... B)

I could tell you stories about those deer in North Tonawanda!  Wow........and the turkeys that look ancient!

Regarding waterfront. The Mrs, and I went to The Liberty Hound right near the naval ships last night. Great food and nice craft beer selection. Haven't been down that way in a long time. It's looking quite nice.

Despite asking a cop if i could park in the apartments where i did and being told yes I came out to a $50 parking ticket from some fat POS cop want to be writing tickets. 50 yards away in the other direction in which we walked had a sign saying "No parking in Apartment parking unless you have a hang tang" SMH.

Dam turkey that's a bs ticket you can legally park in the parking lot across the street it is shared by the naval park and the apartment complex I hung the parking signs on the fence for the naval park last year some of the people at the apartment complex were pissed that it was a shared lot

I was up there years ago just to float around and eat.....and drink.

It didn't rock my world so I haven't been back.

Did see a little excitement across the water while chewing down my beef on weck though!

I wonder what folks talk about in those little circles after they drop someones boat from the fork lift 8ft up in the air.

Lol my brother in-law said that to me a couple of hrs ago I told my wife it's a shame they are making it very nice down there Ill bet they have them stolen already one or two.more times this summer. I seen it on the news the other night and tested it to my boss by lunch time the next day we had the call to replace them between canal side and liberty hound and the naval.park we handle all of their flags banners and signs.
