bubba
If you have read all the posts I have said it is both. But mostly strategy. And I get this crap directly from the Astorino campaign. Pat a little attention and you could also.
jjb4900
Plus the other point to remember there was a Democratic primary yesterday. Even though the chances were slim Cuomo could have been knocked out of the race. Why waste time money and effort on Cuomo if he may of not even been running. yeah, that must be it. Even though the chances were slim Cuomo could have been knocked out of the race. Why waste time money and effort on Cuomo if he may of not even been running. Don't we get enough spin from our crooked politicians and their media hacks? Why can't we at least be honest in our own discourse with each other. bubba
Believe what you want. I can not change that. If you find it easier to sit back and complain he is not running his campaign as you see fit so be it. Just watch in the next couple weeks. And if you are calking me a liar I take offense to that. I have personally met with both Mr astorino and moss and have been well informed of their plans. Sheriff moss came to walk in a parade with my group. They will again be in my area one week from tonight where I will meet with them again. I also have email contact with both campaign managers. What I have posyed came directly from all of the above. Now you can take it or leave it.
Doc
I have never hoped so hard that I was wrong before, and the rose colored glasses do keep me hoping that this is all strategy, and that Cuomo is going to be toppled by a few last minute TV and newspaper ads. However, the realist in me says that this election has already been decided and feeble eleventh hour efforts are not going to change the inevitable. There has been an unrelenting drumbeat all over the TV, with substantially damaging allegations that have been allowed to firm up in voter's minds without a peep of challenging. Once entrenched, those allegations are not going away with a few ads at the last minute. There is the problem with name recognition, which normally is handled with constant repetition of the candidates name through TV spots, Newspaper ads, and even radio commercials. None of that has been done. If this election ends in anything but a Cuomo landslide, it will have been done contrary to any campaign strategy that I have ever seen (and at my age, I have seen a lot of them ..... lol). Back in the early days of the campaign, I really believed that with a unified gunowner coalition along with other issues such as Common Cause, and the occasional scandal here and there, and the usual crowd of people that have a whole variety of favorite causes or little nits with the Cuomo administration, we had a quite good chance of plowing this creep under. However, watching the non-campaign and the massive unchallenged inertia being built up by the Cuomo machine, it really is hard to maintain that confidence. Trial153
http://nypost.com/2014/09/10/cuomo-wins-democratic-primary/ he won a primary by lkess than 25 percent by an unknown. If you think he can no tbe beat, you are mistaken. Now I am sure your are delusional. Not doubt remains. The quacks that voted for Teachout are the left of the left. If you think for a minute that they are going to show up for a republican candidate no matter how unsatisfied the are with Cuomo then your insane. At best a percentage of them will stay home on Election Day, but most will show up a vote Democrat all the way down the ticket.

beachpeaz
This is a long thread, so I admit, I did not read everyones comments. If this is redundent, excuse me. Does it really matter who is running against Cuomo? Are you people so naive to think that NYS will ever be anything but a liberal democratic state? Not in our lifetime will you EVER see NYS be anything else. NYC is the only thing anyone cares about and until that changes (which is never), it makes no difference. Here is a summary of the state we live in: $51 BILLION aide package signed by Cuomo last year (that is a B for Billion). $50 Billion went to NYC.....the other $1 Billion wen to the rest of the state. Enough said? So, talk about "campaign" funds all you want. Go ahead and donate $100 Billion to some republican to run....you will not get a republican in office. Period. end of story. Mr VJP
Well, tomorrow is 9/11/14. Maybe the crazy jihadists will make good on their threats and take NYC out. Maybe that would wake up all the looney liberals and Astorino would then have a chance. In NY state, it will probably take something like that to wise these Leftist idiots up. dbHunterNY
I've seen unlimited funded campaigns run like crap and cause a loss. I've also seen ridiculously funded campaigns win by a land slide. It doesn't matter how Rob Astorino's campaign is being run, because you don't really have a say to change that unless you volunteer. even then you have limited say. bottom line is there's no reason to give up though. they're running his campaign how they're going to run it. it doesn't matter though because you, family, friends, and acquaintances are all the ones who are voting and will decide if he wins or loses. just remember to vote and if someone ignorantly believes a TV ad against him light heartedly ask "do you always believe what you see on TV?" set them straight. another thing don't use niche words like Leftist, right wing, etc. that just alienates yourself and him. he needs votes from all parties and will get them as he did in Westchester.

mike rossi
I sent a PM with a link for volunteers for Astorino's campaign to the OP... It all happens from grass-roots efforts. All people running for office have a volunteer team. If you are interested in someone's success or concerned about it, join the volunteer campaign team.... Here is the link: http://www.robastorino.com/volunteer NYDH can also use volunteers that are knowledgeable and communicate well.... Even if all someone does is hit the tweet button.....
Doc
Frankly, I like seeing people talking about the campaign and not taking anything for granted. The worst thing is that everyone will assume that a big rabbit is going to be pulled out of the hat at the last minute. The big enemy now is apathy and believing in the tooth fairy. A little good old fashion panic can be a powerful motivator towards getting voters minds right and pushing their feet toward the polls.
WingNut
The Astorino adds have just started in the capital region. Doc is right on also! I can feel myself starting to panic, especially when I ask people about voting and get a blank stare back at me!
bubba
ok turn that panic into something positive for the campaign. Posting on here is no where near enough

Doc
Lol.... everybody is playing with poll numbers. Of course there is only one poll that will really count. I will say that the Astorino campaign has finally started. I have actually seen a couple of Republican TV spots. One thing that has to be remembered is that Cuomo does have some soft spots. There are liberals that think he is not liberal enough (imagine what kind of government they would like to have ..... lol). There are "Greenies" that are unhappy with him. These people are fielding their own candidates and splitting the pinko vote. They're not our buddies, but God bless them, they are doing our work for us. Now if we can just keep our own house in order by keeping gun owners focused and heading to the polls.....who knows? Yes we are starting from a hole, but perhaps Cuomo is still digging his hole.
