The point Im making is that the crime rate in Chicago is so incredibly  high that  the crime and criminals themselves , should be addressed and some shit head study about why crime is occurring at such a high rate, shouldn't matter. Deal with the immediate problem. Most shit heads just don't get that.

You solve problems by studying the situation and devising a rational course of action and then implementing it. Suggesting science has no place in that process is just stupid. Eggheads as you call them have cured illnesses, created wonders, won wars and given us longer lives. I'm sure if it was a study that agreed with the preconceived notion in you head you'd be all for it. How else would you explain simply dismissing a study, one of many on that subject, simply because the University of Chicago was an entity involved with it?

We have come to worship at the alter of research to the point where we don't even question the results and statements of researchers anymore. All they have to do is to hang some impressive credentials onto the front of their pronouncement papers, and everyone bows down and takes it like the word of God. It's gotten like the joke, "It has to be true. I saw it in the newspaper". We don't even think about what is being said anymore if it comes under the guise of "a study". Since when did we start letting other people do our thinking for us. When did we get so mind-weak that we lost our ability to question. Even the conclusions reached are force fed to us and our reasoning processes stop with the words, "research has shown that ......".

 

Yes, there has been useful research done, but somewhere along the line we have stopped questioning any of it, or arriving at our own conclusions. We no longer apply logic or rational thinking because in our minds it has already been done for us. When I think about the kinds of difficulties this kind of thinking (or lack thereof), it is very scary indeed. Like I said, there are some very scary racists conclusions that could come from some parts of this Chicago study. Sentences and paragraphs that could be used to bolster racist claims. There have been other studies under the sacred umbrella of "research" that have been proven to be destructive and misleading because people applied (or mis-applied) the principles touted in them without using their God-given brain. Not every discussion can be ended with references to "a study". And not everything stated in a study is necessarily true or accurate.

Funny how a smug talking heads like Orielly can make a very good living by pointing out the obvious about Blacks in America but never giving any real solutions to the problem. You know why, because there is no solution, it's been this way with blacks in America for a long long loooonnng time and some things just can't be fixed. Nope again. I hate out of control, over the top crime, no matter who is committing it or where it is occurring. While the geniuses "Study the situation" People are slaughtering each other. How about we address that right now with stepped up enforcement and prosecution. It will never all go away but it can be reduced considerably. We can all be impressed with pie charts and graphs later.

Even the dumbest O'Reilly-loving clowns know that Planned Parenthood is a non-profit organization. They have offices in the areas where they're needed most so as to provide access to their services.

Studies, research and the printed results are often taken as gospel.  The moon charts are a perfect example. 

 

Some go by the moon charts and swear by them because they have seen the similar results with the moon pattern year after year.  While others will say it has nothing to do with any rut predictions and have other "experts" prove it with their printed results.  We can argue both sides until we are feed up.  Most will not change their opinion due to what they see in the woods.  Confirming or denying what ever studies they want to prove or disprove.   Many of us know that deer are individuals and can find a deer that disproves any theory because the laws of nature are unbound and can change with many factors. 

 

My point is this:  O'Reilly did not do this to put the black men down, he is doing a wakeup call at the risk of his job.  The black community needs to address this with the family.  Unfortunately they will probably ignore this and label him as a racist.

Did you listen to Bundy's full comment? No doubt in my mind he is a racist but that doesn't remove the value of some of his comments. He was speaking to having self worth, motivation and a strong sense of family unit. He had some valid points and did a piss poor job conveying them. Enven during the time of slavery when the families were broken up and sold off the black community on the plantations acted af a family unit. I don't see that on a whole today. The incidence rate of black on black crime is out of control and it isn't the plantation owners that are breeaking up the family unit today. It is cultural suicide.
