DIRT BAG!

What does baiting do to a deers digestive system?  Does it mess it up?  You can read about how supplementle feeding can do more harm than good and also can mess there stomach up.  Wouldnt such things as DirtBag have somewhat the same effect if consumed to a certain degree?  If such things are so attrative to deer do they pass up more native food sources just to get to this crap?  I can not picture in my head this stuff is like a piece of candy but rather a whole bowl of candy to them.  If it is we wouldnt see the pictures of ground torn up all around bait piles.  This has got to effect them negativly other than the potential death by hunter scenario.

Some pretty good questions being asked here.

You hear horror stories about corn baiting/feeding doing damage to deer and may kill them. It's the sudden shock to the system (often in winter) when they haven't been eating corn and then all of a sudden eat too much of it (ie the % of their overall diet). It's really akin to us dying of drinking too much water...it could happen, but hysteria makes people think that deer drop dead often from it. When in reality, the total risk is minimal from a numbers perspective.

It seems that the Company that makes "Dirt Bag" may know that baiting is frowned upon, or illegal in some areas, and found a way around it. Look for baits manufactured into the form of dried leafs and twigs, in the not so distant future.

Where someone thinks there's money to be made, there will be someone out there trying go make it. That's just business...

IMO putting out a bag of corn or anything else is the same as planting a food plot. Is there less money and work involved? Yes yet it is still done with the same thing in mind bring the deer to mee and get them away from others. They are both things that are not there naturally a person had to put them there. Dump a bag of crushed beats or plant them they are still being put somewhere nature didn't put them mand put them there. Just my opinion

Not all food plots are meant to "hunt over" do a little research before you make some of those comments. A lot of plots are meant to hold and grow deer. I realize this could be another hot topic, but to help the deer survive the winter, to grow racks and body is what a food plot CAN do. A bag of apples will not.

Hey Everyone! This is Louis Backlas/ Cross Over the River Outdoors. I just posted a new video to my YouTube channel that I though ya'll might get a kick out of! Have you ever used a decoy to hunt whitetails? If you haven't before you might want to start! I woke up one morning and look out my front window only  to find that my 3D deer target was in pieces all over the front lawn! A fired up buck decided to take his frustrations out on the target!  this took place sometime in November during the peek of the rut. Hope ya'll get a kick out of it!

Just wanted to post a video of one of my successful bow hunts this year. Something about documenting your hunt and self filming adds even more of a rewarding feeling to a bow harvest when it all comes together. *Disclaimer*  I don't think I'm a "pro" nor am I trying to be just love filming and tinkering around with the editing. The audio on the video from my second doe harvest is much better than this one, I figured out a few tricks with the editing software recently and I'll have that one done by the weekend. You can skip through the talking parts if you want the shot happens around the 3:20 mark.
