nyantler
Welcome to one of the greatest challenges there is IMO...... Sent from my KFJWI using Tapatalk I take I you never tried tracking a big buck in the big woods of the Adirondacks with a flintlock rifle? But I will agree, taking a mature buck with archery equipment at close range anywhere is a tough endeavor
wildcat junkie
Once I really started getting serious about bow hunting I found myself within spitting distances of unalrmed deer under my stand that more often than not didn't provide a shot. I found that Bow hunting usually provides more heart pounding thrills than gun hunting even when a shot doesn't present itself.
Taylormike
First off, Kudos to whom ever picked this post back up and replied. Apex, You don't sound like a newbie to archery, you sound experienced. The numerous things you've mentioned and how you responded usually takes a veteran bow hunter. You are definitely on the right path to success. You had several opportunities and you can only get out Sunday morning. If possible, schedule yourself 2 or 3 long weekends during archery, you'll find yourself harvesting your first rather quickly! Keep up the good work! Archery is just phenomenal! moog5050
I started bow hunting before gun and enjoy it much more than gun. In fact, hunting with the bow right now. You will get your first soon Apexer. Good luck!
ncountry
I started bow hunting probably 5 years after starting gun hunting. I definitely enjoy it more.. If I had to choose one over the other it would be the bow. I also like the fact that I can shoot a deer and within moment other deer keep on coming through. They aren't scared out of the neighborhood. Edited December 6, 2014 by ncountry
