Cabin Fever
Shot a buck today. His tarsal glands were black! Darker than I have ever seen before. Must be rutting hard!

Cabin Fever
I bagged the ones I cut of 6point I shot...will use them tomorrow in a mess bag....smelliest I have ever encountered Funny that since skinning the deer, I've washed my hands several times and changed clothes, but I still get a whiff of rutting buck musk every now and then! Very strong odor!
wooly
I rubbed my hunting clothes all over my deer the other day thinking the doe wouldn't be able to resist a handsome young buck like myself once they got a whiff of my new cologne. They WREAK of rutting buck to the point it's nauseating. I haven't washed them in years, but now I might have to! I can't get the smell out of my nose, lol
Pugsley
I took them off one of my friends bucks an couple of years ago. Tied to a string and dragged it in behind me . Hung it in a tree near me. Wasn't in the spot more than 20 minutes and a 8 pointer came following my trail in with fire in his eyes. Took him at 15 yards. I have tried it after that without the same results. So I guess if you know that you are in a dominant bucks area try it it worked once for me. wooly
Lol- I stay out of the bars, so I don't end up behind bars! After this storm blows through later this week I'll try these stinkin' clothes out again.
G-Man
i have had very good luck using a tarsil off a buck to bring in others, but works best if tarsil is from a buck more than 2 miles from where i am hunting. (intruder) rather than a local (already smelled that ) buck.
