Well I've seen them out,the ice is all slushy from the melt. But Case and Cuba lake are both fishable... well for some I'll still wait a bit

I haven't seen any ice that I would dare walk out on yet. The idea of going through and coming up disoriented and under the ice is not something I would want to check out. Especially with the paralyzing effects of hypothermia.

Every year a few dopes go out on Oneida Lake too early. Last year, or was it the year before?, a bunch got stranded on a huge chunk of ice that broke off and floated away. No was was hurt, but they had to be rescued and lost tons of gear. It could have been a lot worse.

I've been out once so far on decent ice but the sporadic weather is making things tough. Planning on a trip to Oneida in February

Just let me know when the snowmobiles and atv's are out there. Then it's safe enough for me to venture out onto the ice. I'll never risk a horrible death to catch a few perch.

I did see a guy on the ice at a local lake with his auger drilling holes.He is crazy/a nut.No way is the ice that thick.
