I Need A PFD

I have to get a PFD for early season fishing.  If it is between November 1st and May 1st you must wear one.  (just when operating the boat, I think)

I'm going to get one of those blow up jobbers that Cabela's sells.  Co2 aren't they?

Any input from those in the know?

I love my BLOW up JOBBERS. I use the ones that go over your neck and a lot of guys use these ones for early season fishing with the mandatory pfd wearing requirements http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=1547466&destination=/catalog/product.jsp?productId=1806463&type=product&avad=55963_cac10b6a&WT.mc_id=al41227&Subid1=SID&subacctid=41227&subacctname=41227&adname=Custom+Link&adtype=cl&adid=NA&utm_medium=AFF&utm_source=41227&rid=12&WT.tsrc=AFF they work like a belt and are much better than wearing one of those doofy looking orange rectangle pfds over your neck to get in the way of everything. There is also this one. The same exact style just a different color and a little bit cheaper http://www.cabelas.com/product/cabela-s-essential-2500-belt-pack-pfd/2181514.uts?destination=%2Fbrowse.cmd%3FcategoryId%3D153181080&No=0

Don't buy one!

I have one new in the package you can have.....In town on Friday, and if nothing else I'll swing by and drop it off.

I have a couple of standard types too, so let me know if you want a spare or two of those also.

Larry you're a lucky guy! And Dins that's very generous of you!

I owe him for some powder and a couple of damn good meals......

Maybe I'll get a ride on the boat again someday too. ^_^

I had a small Tracker bass boat and all the kit that went with it, after the boat went down the road all the gear has slowly been moving out from those days, finally.

Got one from Cabela's on one of their sales, great for when it's required during those colder months. It's main advantages are mobility, and keeps you cool during the warmer months.

Recharge kits can be pricey, but if you don't take a dunk, you won't need them.

That would be great Dan if you're sure you'll not need it again.

As far as the standard ones go, I'm good on those.

I'm was hoping to see you this weekend before the PFD induced stroke of luck anyway. :)

You owe me nothing, I told you that the other day. :)

As far as the boat ride, count on it..........

Its looking unlikely, as you've seen I have a honey do list a mile long

Yea, I'm hoping to get my tile floor installed this weekend.  The plumbing fixtures should be here Tuesday or Wednesday...........haven't heard a thing on the vanity/sink/top yet.

If I can get the floor done, then the toilet can get placed.............life will be 99% normal then.  :)

I have thought about an inflatable when wading in rough current. My only question is what happens if you actually go in the drink and get knocked out? Do they make any that react to falling in that don't need the person to activate them?

Yes, these are the ones we are talking about. It has a kit that auto-inflates. It also has a tube in case you need to manually inflate it yourself. It also has a pull cord to manually inflate the PFD should it not inflate upon falling into the water.
