Turkey with a bow or crossbow

Kind of thinking of using a crossbow for turkey this spring.

I'm very new to crossbow (picked up a Parker for the last two weeks of bow last season), and relatively new to turkey hunting (have only shot 1 jake), so two questions for the bow or crossbow hunters for turkeys;

Fixed blade or mechanical?

Do you aim for center mass?

Thanks in advance!

Aim for the spine, or head neck with a gobbler getter head.. the vitals on a turkey are very small aND from the side seem to be about the wing butt. Crossbows are fast and my go thru the bird, they do not bleed well and can fly quite a ways with no way to track them. A point that is designed to stop or slow down and stay in the bird is prefered.. imo spine from the back at top of back or head are only good shots. I've lost a few birds to center mast hits on birds In the fall.when I started bow hunting before I learned where to aim .Check out turkey vitals and shot placement on line.. best of luck

biggest cut mechanical you can find.  guillotine style or something like Rage Xtreme.  penetration isn't an issue but sometimes if the arrow is still in it max shock and shaft itself keeps the bird on the ground and not far from where you hit it.  wing butt, butt hole, or base of the beard if you're not using the guillotine style.  no long shots.

I will be attempting Turkey with a bow this year as well. Thanks Tinlodge for the link. Ill use my hypodermic rage heads. I did buy the guillotines, but heard you have to shoot a heavy, longer, more stiff spined arrow and i dont want to change my whole setup.

so if the birds within 20 yards, i will aim for head/neck, any further i will aim for the body. I d just hate to lose any breast meat, or clip the beard.. Thats been the reason i havent taken my bow out yet..
