The big one was 41 pounds.  The smaller was 35.

How are stripers for eating ?

they are all strippers.  The are good.  Its a white meat fish.

Striped Bass is great eating! That is one nice fish. Did you get them on eels or trolling? Father in Law years ago caught a 41lbs Bass off the rocks, it was amazing. Congrats!

Those were live eel catches.  The big one barfed up the feel, it was still squiring.... didn't want to waste the little guy so I fished him again.  Blue fish got his the second time, only left me the head on the hook.

I don't get down to fish for them very often anymore...I caught my first one off a jetty by the Destroyer Piers in Newport RI back in 1971  on a chunk of cut mackerel.

For several years a few friends and I made an annual trip down to Niantic, Conn  and fished for them in the sound and on the race..

Good fighters and excellent eating, as opposed to blues which are AWESOME fighters,but not so good to eat.

Nice, it's easier to see both stripers on computer now vs phone. Enjoy the great eats !
