That's cool...we have many made ones around the hills from old oil wells that they lit the vent and never came back been burning sence they all left...cool to ride the trails and see a pipe sticking outta ground with a 3 foot flame comming out

Yes, it's close to where I live. My nieces called it the internal flame, when they were little.

It goes out from time to time and gets re-lit

As I get older, I have enough methane gas available to to make my own Eternal Flame.

Been there a bunch. Last summer was the last time. Used to go there a bunch in HS and shortly after. Now it's been over publicized and I feel like a tourist going. We've re lit it before. I just want to know how it got lit the first time ! Last few years idiots have been falling while scaling walls and the falls. Winter time is the best when the falls freeze and you see the glow behind the ice

I had read about it.  Thought about stopping by and checking it out or stopping by Lawdwazz's place and playing a prank on him during my Syracuse/Niagra Falls/Watkins Glen trip.  Alas, time was short and distance was far and I didn't have time for either of it.
