Way to go tim wells now every guy getting into archery is going to think they can do it too. I'm sure old  tim wouldn't be editing  out the 10  other times he missed at that distance during the day  on the tv . Yep

It's tv so it most be real lol

:pleasantry:

140 yards standing target (and distracted by drinking) is many times easier, with any weapon, than 130 yards running.  That guy is certainly good.   I would be willing to bet that his hit and kill percentage is well above 75%.  There always has been and always will be folks who are jealous of those who are more successful than themselves.  Jealousy is always bad and demonstrates weakness. The best thing those folks can do is get over it because it does not do them any good, and only serves to hold them back.  There is an easy way to get over it: Develop some faith in Jesus and everything will work out.

People complain about not getting enough pentiteration with bows at half that distance  . Besides the fact of how good he is or isn't   . The kinetic energy at that distance is way below what is considered humane for medium size game .

And you can tell this is been edited or just fake all together he didn't even have the right angle to take that shot looks like

This about as real as reality TV lol

I like to think most people are smart enough to know their own limitations.........

I read his story but unless I saw him shoot in front of a live  audience at those distances   I don't believe he is as good as he claims  to be   honestly , i think the guy is just trying to make a buck $$$$   makes for good  tv tho.

Why not enter a 3d competition or something if he is that good  you know  what I mean .

I am sure he said a sweet word or two to Jesus just before he hit the release.

LOL. You moan and moan and moan about the guy then post another one of his videos?

Hey makes for good conversation right  lol  got to watch more of his videos lol want to know if he is using a range finder but looks like he is not and no sites or release .  With sites and a range finder you could probably practice and get good at those distances but will the deer still be in the same spot when it gets  there not likely   then there is wind   I guess  comes down to practice practice practice bUT who has the time or space to even practice at that distance.  I know mid evil archers use to shoot 80 to 100 pound  long bows  all the time at  those distances but at army's in formation with 700 grain arrows  and that's all they did was train day after day for that was a full time job back then  he loOKs like he is using 350 400 grain arrows .

Is this your first week with cable and internet service OR WHAT...?

My suggestion to you would be to take a break from it for an hour or so, and go outside to get some fresh air. You've been cooped up way too long!

No second week lol :taunt:

This was pretty good, and I actually thought you were going to say practice extra hard, but instead you went the JC route.

So what's the KE considered to be at or above humane? And what KE would his arrow be if it was below this, humane KE?

Using a balistic calculator the foot pounds  of energy at 140 yards

Shooting at 320 fps and 350 grain arrow

Is only 15 foot pounds

You are supposed to use above 25 ft ibs   on medium. Size game

If he is shooting at 350 fps with 350 grain arrow  it's only 17 foot pounds

Still  below 25 ft ibs  the drop at that distance is 522 inches !! Even at 350 fps !!!!

What about. 400gn arrow or heavier. I can't find a calculator that goes out that far for archery.

The one I used does any type  projectile you just need to know  fps. And weight

So that's a approximation  i   cross checking with just a arrow balistic calculator that goes up to 100 yards   that let's you add more info  you still get similar results  . At that distance your  not going to have much juice in the tank  bare minimum of what you need  in anycase some one on here  on other post said he took a shot with a 360 fps crossbow at 59 yards and only got 8 inches of penetration this guy is taken shots at over double that distance lol

It sounds like you are referring to me on that last post LJC .  If so, it was actually a 300 fps crossbow.   I would imagine that a 360 would get pretty close to full penetration at 59 yards.   That was also an expanding broadhead which are not great for long range penetration.  The warthog dude was probably using cut on contact fixed blade heads that were well tuned to his setup.

Actually he was using the expandables  I think  rage if I am not mistaken .

Well what ever he was using if this is real it worked that time at least lol

Yea o sorry couldn't remember the fps that you said

You are stating ball parks as facts. If your not calculating vains and arrow diameter your numbers won't even be close. If you don't know at what rate an arrow is slowing you will never know how fast it's going when it gets to a distance. At "normal" archery ranges none of this would matter but when we are talking extreme ranges where an arrow has slowed to less than half its original speed it really matters.

25 ft-lbs for medium sized game... Any references to this number?

You're using a calculator specifically for arrows? What's the BC of the arrow you used in your calculations?
