Broome County about 10 miles N.E of Binghamton. I know there in the area. That is actually a food plot. I might do some calling there at dark. The wind is finally going to get down to single digits this afternoon.

In december i found evidence of fox being mortal enemies. I had always heard of stories about fox being emaciated(hope thats spelled correctly) in traps but never heard of a yote out runnin a fox and killin it...these are pictures from my phone..the links are pictures of a yote on first week of shotgun..fox as i found it in the oat field 100ish yds away from my shop..fox skinned and k9

Did you see the coyote run down and kill the fox? Or did you just find the fox dead?

Keep in mind..fox n yote will circle down wind and shoot straight in..if you dont hunt them that is..they like to smell what theyre after

Didnt see it(would have loved to) but there were a set of trax that were side by side...one that sprinted for about 75 yds to intersect the fox trax which looked to be runnin the field as usuall..and was headed in the direction of the nearest cover..the trax in the fox pic are all yote..hard to make out tho

Pat you are absolutely right downwind is where it's going to happen. I have been predator hunting about 5 yrs. I have a foxpro FX5. I have learned to be downwind of the call at least 80 yds. Fasteddie there is a ladderstand about 12 feet from that camera for serving a lead diet. lol

I would say the furthest pic from the camera on the bottom about 15-18 yds.

I just started hunting predators at night myself..its hard to come close to the  numbers of yote the dog runners get..still lookin for my first night yote..but i did start usin my 22mag with open sights..it makes me more comfortable than tryin to find em in the scope..i use mini digi predator call..40 of useful plastic..and a tactical flashlight..nothin but trouble with rechargable gunlights..flashlight is way easier

this winter has been taking a toll on alot of wildlife, dont really think the yotes are having too much of a probkem though.
