BEAR!!!!

Saturday morning I had my first ever NYS bear sighting.  I was on stand and around 8:30am I looked behind me and spotted a black bear about 40 yards away. I grabbed my bow and spun around, hoping he'd turn and come my way. He was going west and I was a touch to the south of him.  No dice, he got nervous; possibly winding my tracks where I came in.  He went back the way I assume he came..........It was quite a thrill, maybe only about 150 lbs but a very cool experience.

Always cool to see a bear! I've seen them many, many times. Even had a couple real close encounters from a ground blind. But for one reason or another, I haven't pulled the trigger on one........Yet.

Saw some bear scat Saturday afternoon just north of (200 yards) Holmes Rd.

If you do kill one, you call me ASAP.

Oh, and it was NOT the same area that I saw the bear in this thread.  I was north about 5 miles.

If your serious I will. Ive been taking my 8yr old with me a lot trying to get a deer with him. I doubt will see one but ill give it a go.
