went up to camp to check camera and coyote hunt.  Didn't hunt do to 70mph winds but got a nice healthy 10pt still holding end of Jan.  His body still looks big and deep tarsal staining.  Looks like the soybeans did their job!

Only got him during the day pre and post season.  They get smart when they are mature.  Once the snow is gone going to do some shed hunting.

maybe he was only coming to your property to feed pre and post season. maybe he lives else where. hopefully you catch him this seaosn running a doe past your stand.

Bucks do not travel far from their home range except maybe during the rut.. they can't afford to expel the energy during the winter months..they will hole up close to the best food source in their range.. the range is of course larger in some places than others

Geno, I got him during the season but only at night.  My property is part of his home range just need him to mess up next year

Once the estrous is in the air he'll be bound to screw up hopefully you'll be there to catch him when it does happen.  Good luck with finding his sheds too.

ive seen deer hold up on a particular property near a food source all summer and split not long after that velvet sheds.

i thought you stated you only cought him pre and post season on trail cam? thats why i stated what i did. if you got him at night on your cam well that a whole other story...

He should have been back to his non-rut routine by pic time, so I'd be scouting that trail he's on for early Oct hunts, and his sheds.. Good luck
